An Ode to Co-Op Campaign Modes

If we think back, many of our best gaming moments were with friends. That's not odd, gaming is a social medium. But as children, we were sure that the day would come when every campaign could be played through co-op. Technological hurdles came and went, but the option never arrived. What gives?
