This game is on my bucket list but I need to find a mod to change the quest system to be a little closer to skyrim. I just get lost lol.

That was half the fun of it lol. Felt like you were truly navigating the world. I get it though. This was the first Elder Scrolls game I've played and, now, all releases since seemed to be lacking. That said, if I started with Skyrim, or even Oblivion, I'd possibly be annoyed with the the intricacies of it by comparison.

To be honest my first elder scrolls was Oblivion, but I loved it and skyrim. I own the anniversary box for PC that has every elder scrolls in it. But I haven't had the time to attempt the older ones.

I'm just happy the modding scene kept with this game, even now going on 20 years after release. Morrowind will always be the defining ES experience for me. Daggerfall was just too randomized and samey, despite being more complex in mechanics; whereas Oblivion, and then Skyrim, simply stripped away too many elements and felt pretty casual by comparison.
