Humble Monthly Bundle December 2019 Review – Ending the Humble Monthly Bundle with a great bundle

So let’s get started. This month we have three games, Yakuza Kiwami, Soul Calibur VI and My Time at Portia. Honestly this is yet again another solid month with three great games. It’s also the last month...

Humble Monthly is no longer what it has been. Existing subscribers will keep the "old" plan of the 8 games per month at $12, but all new subscribers will pay more for less. I unsubbed and got the 3-year deal on XBOX Ultimate PC Game Pass instead, and got it for me and my wife. We love Outer Worlds and found a lot of smaller games we enjoyed on there.

Not entirely true. The new plan, Humble Choice, will have 10 games (or more) each month where you pick a monthly tier and get to choose a number of games depending on how much you pay. $5 is the pointless tier, getting no game choices and weird, small perks. The most expensive plan is $20 and lets you pick...I think 9 games. If you are an existing subscriber, you get a special plan no one else can get. It turns into the "classic" plan, which lets you continue paying $12 a month and you get to keep all 10 games.

You pay less than new subscribers and get more. If I was subbing after the deadline, I'd agree there'd be more to consider for your $20. I'm not sure why you'd unsub now when you'll get the cheapest price and you'll get to see what the games are first. Payment still comes at the end of the month, so you get to look before you pay. And for your $12, you get to keep 10 games instead of "rent" them. And the 10-20% discount on the store is a nice bonus for the odd purchase here or there.

I've only had a few "dud" months over the years, and those still were still easily worth $12 regardless. I mean, keeping a game forever for an average of a buck or two? And with the new Humble Choice, about a buck? And some money goes to charity? It seems like a no brainer to keep IMO, at least for now.

It's actually 10 games per month, you can also pause at any time without losing the classic plan as well. If new users want the classic plan, all they need to do is sign up before the next monthly bundle is revealed and pause and unpause whenever they feel like it.

You cancelling your subscription without pausing seems like a knee jerk reaction. The new Humble Monthly didn't even have any negative affect on you. If anything, things would have been better for you because they are now revealing all of the games at once and you can decide if you want to pay for that month or pause without worrying about if you are going to miss out on anything. Now if you ever come back, you will have to pay a higher rate.
