11 games snubbed by The Game Awards 2019 nominations

Indivisible, River City Girls, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order all deserved recognition that they didn't get.

That's a pretty bad list. Almost as bad as our options this year for GotY alone. I think that list kind of proves that they did a good job getting the games in there that deserve it.

Yeah most of these games are better left out of the nominees. Jedi fallen order is fun and I'm enjoying it right now, but any category it could fit in has better nominees already.

This year had some pretty good games but it certainly isn't even close to being the best. In terms of huge high quality AAA games this year has been pretty sparse.

While deserving representation in a few categories Fallen Order missed the cutoff for submissions by the time most outlets got review codes. The cutoff for an eligible games release date was the 15th but the date for voting submission was the 8th.

But honestly I don't see any other game in the article truly deserving of a nomination. And while not a bad game Bloodstained certainly is not close to the best metroidvania of the past few years.

TOV is not a remake. It's a port. Bloodstained is good but it's just more of that exact same formula we played a hundred times before. It does nothing new really. It has the same movement speed as SOTN even. It has pretty much no variation. It's a good game but nothing mindblowingly great. The rest? Meh. No, I can tell you a game snubbed. Judgment on PS4. Brilliant game but the Yakuza series is always snubbed.

The mayor of Snubsville is Sega. Specifically ryu ga gotoku studio. This year it’s Judgment, specifically for the story and performance categories. 11 more games listed here (including a remake and a couple i’ve never heard of), but alas. What happens in Kamurocho stays in Kamurocho.

Nice to see ai somnium, catherine, and tales of vesperia. Although two of them are pretty much just definitive editions. Trails of cold steel 3 is probably my goty atm, still playing at 100+ hrs and maybe 80% done with the story lol. Fire emblem TH is a close 2nd for me. Great year for niche titles. There wasnt really any huge huge titles this year on par with lets say god of war, witcher 3 or last of us though. Resident evil 2, dmcV, and sekiro are the only ones that pop up into my mind.

2020s going to be a big one though with ff7r, cyberpunk, lou2, and definitely a few more.
