Look at these dudes trying to get kudos from Google. Good strategy when no one knows who you are

xX-oldboy-Xx2044d ago

I didn't think that 4K HDR 5.1 was available at launch? I'm sure there was a few articles stating that recently.

Either way - I'm sacrificing goats and praying to God's I didn't know existed for Stadia's failure.

darthv722044d ago

That seems awfully petty to me. I'm not interested in Stadia but I won't wish ill will on something because it doesnt interest me or i don't agree with it. To each their own I guess.

xX-oldboy-Xx2043d ago

hahaha - yes mate - extremely petty, but I thi k Google can take the loss. Something tells me they'll be fine.

We have a tech giant muscling in our space, not actually investing in our space - of course I want it to fail.

Keep singing Kumbaya big fella.

Muscling? They are innovating. You're just a moron and software people like me laugh at you. The only thing I hope fails are the hearts of cancerous fanboys..

xX-oldboy-Xx2043d ago

Moron? nice one - You say innovating, I say maximising profits for the least outlay.

One of the largest companies in world wants a slice of the growing gaming market, thats all Stadia is.

At least ms had the decency to release a console and a few exclusives.

rainslacker2043d ago (Edited 2043d ago )

I'm a software person too. Even said that asynchronous cloud compute was possible back in the day when MS was talking about it for CD3, despite all the people saying it wasn't. MS showed it was possible. Lackluster representation, but good proof of concept.

I know that streaming can work as well. In fact, I've used PSNow, and had no major issues with it. I suspect MS xCloud will work fine. I suspect Google's service will work fine.

I still think that Google will fail, unless they have a huge change in the way they're marketing the service, and figure out who they're actually targeting with the service. Google has name recognition, but they don't have any presence in gaming. PSNow and xCloud will be bolstered by their console user base. Google can only hope to rope people in by linking their service to other services, or a huge marketing campaign.

I don't hope that Stadia fails, but know it probably will.

Dragonscale2043d ago

Innovating my a55, more like bandwagon jumping tbh. And it looks like the wheels have fallen off before it even got started lol. If you're the sort of fanboy that stadia attracts then it deserves to fail with comments like that fgs.

How much is this site got paid for the review? Asking for a friend

yomfweeee2044d ago

Why do you all keep referencing killedbygoogle.com? Why are you upset that they try a lot of things? There's no harm in it. If a product/service isn't popular, that will abandon it... just like any other company.

Yeah but if you are still using and liking the products they keep killing, it would make sense if you felt a certain way about that. I have no issue with Google, but trusting them to stick with Stadia is probably foolish at this point. They'll probably kill it after a year and bring it back in a decade with a new name and logo.

uth112044d ago

After you pay $60 each for a bunch of games, and they pull the plug on the service, then what?

yomfweeee2043d ago

Then you can complain. That is a different scenario than free products they kill off.

Edgelordsupreme2043d ago

You also dont know what their refund system would be, are there any examples of services Google ran that you purchased software and they shut down later with no refund system in place? No? Well I guess assuming the worst case scenario is kinda childish.

Me personally I'm not interested in using a stadia to play games that I could play on local hardware. Most people are bound to feel similar and I dont see Stadia taking off.

Playdead co-founder slammed with lawsuit as bitter row with co-founder escalates

Playdead co-founder Dino Patti is allegedly being sued by his former studio and business partner.
Patti was threatened with a lawsuit earlier this year after he posted a now-deleted LinkedIn post that shared an "unauthorized" picture of co-founder Arnt Jensen and discussed some of Limbo's development. Patti said Jensen demanded a little over $73,000 in "suitable compensation and reimbursement," adding that he had "repeatedly" had such letters over the last nine years.
