So much intense value all around

Why doesn’t Sony get in on this action?

XtaZ2031d ago

Because the only thing the PS fanbase cares to be happy is console sales, and Sony managed to sell 100+ million consoles this gen despite treating their customers like pure shit from the beginning, so they have zero incentive to change their strategy and become pro-consumer or go out of their way to give their subscribers more bang for the buck.

Sephiroushin2031d ago

Its because sony is in a position where they dont have to kind of gift this and that ... These are marketing strategies.... Companies are not angels that do this things for the fanbase etc they do it because they need more sales, a new console is coming so they have to try to get as most people to their ship; and gamepass has a great value especially on console.... that is it; for example I have a gamepass for pc and cant do this its a console war strategy thing...

Question: I am a Sony customer how have Sony treat me like shit? Only thing I have asked from Sony is quality games. Which they have delivered.

If they treated me like shit I wouldn't have given them money. Only issue I had with Sony this gen is denying us EA access a few years ago as they didn't see the value in it. When surely it should have been me the customer if I see value in it or not. Other than that they have been pretty good to me as a customer.

Sony hasn't treated me like sh*t at all. They gave me what I wanted from a game system. Not allowing some things on the console isn't them treating me like anything. It's not some personal attack on me to do whatever it is they do. I'll even go so far that even MS, who I have been pretty harsh on this gen, hasn't treated me like sh*t either. They just didn't provide me with what I want. MS offering me all those other things to pay money for, isn't them treating me better, it's just them doing some marketing for whatever it is they're trying to do.

Oh, and Sony has had offerings for bundle packages for various services all generation.

Because Sony fanboys are in denial and just trash gamepass instead of realizing what a great value it is for gamers. It could be for them too if they encouraged Sony to make an equivalent. But they'd rather defend outdated garbage with a terrible library like PS Now.

ianyoung32031d ago

I dont know why we as a gaming community feel the need to disparage when we are articulating our points. There are different perspectives on this subject. The library of PS Now is a matter of preference. And not all fans want a subscription based model and there is nothing wrong with that. Gamepass is a great addition to the Xbox ecosystem but that doesnt mean that each player in the games industry must have the exact same offering. And while the move is fantastic, Microsoft and Sony are not in the same boat when it comes to their first party offerings. If Sony saw a significant decline in their profits from their first party games MAYBE they would consider adding first party games day and date to PS Now. But that is not the case so no reason to do so. Hell as long as the communities that these consoles support are engaged in the platform and happy, that is all that should matter at the end of the day.

PlayStation Music is basically powered by Spotify. Why doesn’t subscribing to PS+ or PS Now get you Spotify Premium or anything like that?

Microsoft is going all out with making this service even more valuable.

rainslacker2030d ago

Why would Sony have to offer them as part of their PS+ or PSNow service? They're completely different services. This is like saying cable companies are doing you a favor by offering you additional add ons to whatever service you pay for. Or that its a much better value when they offer you up "free" extra services as a marketing effort to get you to sign up for their other services.

It's not anti-consumer to not offer it, and while it can be pro-consumer to offer it, it's not done just out of the kindness of their hearts, but in order to get you to pay for something.

FallenAngel19842030d ago

I’m not saying that should be a basic feature, but ever since 2015 when Sony partnered with Spotify you’d think they would have some cross promotional deal at some point

Microsoft isn’t even partnered with Spotify in any way and yet this deal has happened

How does a pc user redeem the benefits without having an xbox?

Sephiroushin2031d ago

It seems you cant... its probably a console thing strategy against its competitors

Miacosa2031d ago

These are just trial offers and then you gotta pay normal subscription fees.

Unfortunately I think so. Not anytime soon. But in a few years time. They want that on everything.

Won't happen, software is where all the money is made. These companies take losses on these consoles and then make up for it with software sales.
