Rob Pitt takes a look at the Gioteck VX4, a PS4 controller which thinks it's a DualShock 4 controller - meaning it works on devices and applications as the official controller would.
We compare the unit to the much more expensive NACON controllers we reviewed recently as well as the official DS4 to see which one is the best.
There are more precise and better built options at this price but they mostly lack some of Gioteck VX4's bells and whistles.
At the very least, it has the mic, touch pad, motion controls and speaker. I remember bagging myself a third party controller for my PS3 once and it lacked the motion controller feature, meaning that I couldn't play some games.
Weird that they never tell you the price they paid. How can the rest of the review be taken into proper account when we don't know how much we're saving over a standard DS4?
Not bad looking at all, bit late in the game (pun intended) picking up a current gen console controller if you plan on upgrading though but I guess needs must for a lot of people!
