Mai Shiranui Was Not Included in Smash Ultimate Because the Game Is "for Good Boys and Girls"

During a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate livestream today that focused on the new upcoming fighter, Terry Bogard, Sakurai revealed several cameos but there is one fighter that was not put in due to their risque nature.

That's censoring the KOF roster. So it is censorship. You ppl want to sound rational NOW lol. Nintendo gets way too many passes. Don't even BS this after SFV in early development wanted to change angles and people cried when the game was never even released. Which technically would make it an adjustment. Not censorship as angles are always adjusted in games in alpha and beta.
Not including one of the biggest names in KOF while having most of the key list is definitely censorship.
I'm not surprised and it doesn't bother me. But everyone should be crying irrationally like they do with anything else

It's a game kids play. It's rated E for Everyone. If moms and dads saw big floppy boobs on their kids' E for Everyone game, I'm guessing some might get upset - not just religious prudes or "SJWs" (the most loved of strawmen for arguments like this).

We saw Bayonetta release on Smash, even though she was an "M for Mature" character. They covered her up in one of her canonical outfits that isn't revealing, and all was well. No one complained. No one batted an eye. I think if Mai were to be toned down like Bayonetta, we'd find that the people getting up in arms would be those that would say covering up her assets or toning down some of her more risque attacks would be some kind of assassination of her character. That wouldn't make fans of that character happy, and they can't leave her as-is for a game that's E for Everyone. So if they can't change her for the setting - and yes, characters can make sense in certain scenarios and not others - then the alternative is not include her.

Bayonetta uses her moveset, and that's the most risque one. You especially don't remove or change a fighting game characters moveset when they got Terry, Ryu and Ken using traditional fighting to maximize. That's counter productive. Really, they'd get alot more hate for actually Censoring Mai as opposed to not making her appear. Or maybe not because it's hard to complain about anything Nintendo without a super defense force. Until it's the next gen and they start sayinf the same lol

My biggest complaint with ultimate is that Ultimate ruined the feel of the smash atmosphere for me. Too many don't feel like they belong. That's not a argument. I've been saying I don't like the fighter pass characters because none are really a celebration of nintendo outside banjo. They got Joker in the game and they get every SMT but persona as a good example. Half the cast is japanese anime inspired now etc.
