Daniel writes: "Lornsword Winter Chronicle on Xbox One is a game with ambition and great ideas, but ultimately it’s poorly executed."
Lornsword Winter Chronicle, a new story-driven action strategy game from developer Tower Five in conjunction with Microids, was released today. Along with the release, there is a trailer showing some of the game’s situations, mechanics, and combat.
Mike writes: "Lornsword is a game that appears to have a lot of potential but trips itself up with a dull gameplay loop coupled with a story told in a way that mage it difficult to maintain full attention. An opportunity missed."
BY GRANT TAYLOR: When I was presented with the opportunity to play Tower Five’s Lornsword Winter Chronicle, I was sceptical. I’d never been a fan of strategy titles in any regard and had often considered them too complex, or too slow for my liking. However, I offered the game a momentary chance and decided to watch the trailer – what harm could it do?
Okay, I thought, let’s give it a go – early impressions are that it looks fairly decent.
It would be many hours later when I declared Lornsword a great success: it had won me over, engaged me and thoroughly impressed me.
