Atelier Ryza: PS4 vs Nintendo Switch - What to Buy?

The Mako Reactor says: “Usually, any comparison of visuals and frame rate sees the PS4 remain the winner but in the case of Atelier Ryza, the added aspect of portability with a conversion that is actually great makes the choice to buy a bit more difficult.“

The "What to By?" question depends on if you have a PS4 and a Switch. If you only have either a PS4 or a Switch the question is rather pointless and "of course" you do have to ask if you like or will like the Atelier series?

I'll pick this up once I purge through my backlog. If we don't support thicc waifu games, then publishers will have no reason to keep localizing them.

Playing the Vita titles. While portability is nice. I'd say for atelier pick up PS4 over switch. This one runs better but this game is upgraded alot graphically, and it's downgraded quite a bit on switch. I think the new look needs to be appreciated. Like Atelier up to Shallie on Vita had frame drops but looked identical to ps3. Sophie was downgraded etc so I wouldn't say buy those PS4 ones on it. Same with Ryza on Switch. That versions really the one you buy if you only have switch

Note: I have the PC version. It's the best one of course but bad optimization. Mine is running 4k60 with alot of random drops. Swear it runs better when alot is happening than when I'm just running around with nothing happening lol. But they're suppose to have a optimization patch soon. So maybe they'll actually have a good port.

Never buy the Arland trilogy on PC, I think the switch and PS4 versions are better. I would go as far as to say I prefer the Vita versions over it

Rewind: Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout

Let's begin today's tale with something of an unorthodox comparison. You see, I recently watched a fantastic hentai series (stay with me, I promise it's relevant), inspired by the Atelier game series. It's called Rune's Pharmacy if you're interested. As I was watching, I couldn't help but find more relatability and likeability with protagonist Rune than I ever have with Atelier's protagonists.
