About time we had a new Dead space game.

RosweeSon2079d ago

The 1st was great then just went downhill from there. Thanks EA 😑🤦🏻‍♂️

AnubisG2078d ago

The second one was really good also. Only the third was pure crap.

RosweeSon2078d ago

I didn’t mind the 2nd one as such but wasn’t a patch on the first and just thought it wasn’t a great game good sure 7-8 out of 10 at best and with my backlog if it ain’t a solid 9 ain’t got the time haha

SlagWolf2079d ago

I’d love one but you know EA would screw it up

PhoenixUp2078d ago

Not gonna happen now that the Dead Space dev team got dismantled

Yeah I really enjoyed that one it filled a resi shaped whole at the time then it just went more and more action based and lost its way. Like they literally followed the resi games started well resi 1-3 etc 4 then 6?🤨😑🤮& #128540;went too action 🤦🏻‍♂️Nailed it with first one (dead space) and then just went 🤷🏻‍♂️

EA should just sell the franchise to someone else instead of having it sit on a shelf and collecting dust. But then knowing EA they would probably ask for a stupid price for the Dead Space franchise.

PhoenixUp2078d ago

When do publishers ever just sell their dormant franchises

TheColbertinator2078d ago

Off the top of my head I do remember that the Fallout franchise was sold by Interplay to Bethesda.

Do you not see this happening during development? Like, why are we apologizing after the fact instead of stopping it during development?

Stopac3h ago

Criticism and reflection occur after the fact. The apology acknowledges the past criticisms with the new expansion and they're keeping transparency with players about it. Now that they've acknowledged it - it will be interesting to see what kind of cycle we'll get with a new expansion and I wonder if they're planning something special with beast master since they didn't mention it in the last live letter.

It's all good, as long as the price of the product decreases.

Stopac3h ago

The base game and expansion go on sale all the time and doesn't stay full price for very long since a new expansion is on the horizon.

If you're stating they should reduce the price of new expansions or the sub fee, no, that's not gonna happen lmao people aren't even complaining about that. They are criticizing the same old pattern of content that releases and how it is devolving into mediocracy.

"They are criticizing the same old pattern of content that releases and how it is devolving into mediocracy."

The product should be cheaper then.

I was unhappy with DT and have spent far less time in it than any other expansion but it's things like this that makes me respect Yoshi P. It's rare for such a high profile developer to be so candid in his assessment on a live game.

Stopac3h ago

Same, i've found my self resubbing every two patches instead of keeping it up. Don't own a home in the game so there's no point in keeping a constant sub going. The post story is getting interesting though.

Playdead co-founder slammed with lawsuit as bitter row with co-founder escalates

Playdead co-founder Dino Patti is allegedly being sued by his former studio and business partner.
Patti was threatened with a lawsuit earlier this year after he posted a now-deleted LinkedIn post that shared an "unauthorized" picture of co-founder Arnt Jensen and discussed some of Limbo's development. Patti said Jensen demanded a little over $73,000 in "suitable compensation and reimbursement," adding that he had "repeatedly" had such letters over the last nine years.
