Death Stranding File Size Revealed and It Is Pretty Modest

Death Stranding is out on November 8th and it is one of the most anticipated PS4 exclusives. The file size for this open-world game is also pretty modest.

Such weird wording from these journalists. "Modest" would be the outer worlds at 38 gigs..both look to be great games...its not the size of your gigs...its the way you work it.

The impressive thing is Death Stranding only has an 80 person core team and it took just 3 three years. All that, and it's a new IP, open world, AAA from a developer that people say takes very long on development. Plus he switched publishers and game engine and had to reconfigire and relocate his team. People thought the game would take 5 years and not make this gen when it was announced. It's pretty cool that both D Stranding and FFVII are looking good and hitting PS4 in several months.

Everything you said is true with the Kojima team. I appreciate their hard work. I don’t know if the game is going to be good but I’m supporting It and preordered the special edition. Plus I’ve always enjoyed his games.

I've played every single Kojima Metal Gear game and enjoyed them all.

I really like that Kojima dares to be different, I cannot wait to see what he has developed free from Konami's influence.

I cannot wait for Death Stranding.

I remember staying up late playing Metal Gear Solid on the original PlayStation.

The part where you had to get the radio frequency from the back of the games box was genius :D

Also the incredible fight with Psycho Mantis when he checked your memory card for save-games then 'read your mind' , and the part where he changed your TV channel in the middle of the fight had me really confused but super impressed!

I even bought a GameCube just so I could play The Twin Snakes.

How about Red Dead Redemption 2 and its (close to) 110 GB. Or Assassin's Creed Origins + dlc clocking in at 77 GB. And Assassin's Creed Odyssey is even bigger, at I think it is 87 GB, and I still haven't bought the dlc yet. But RDR2 is a brute. It really is. And I forgot GTA V also, it's like AC Origins.

i hate that we live in a world where 55GB is considered modest... but good on them for not taking up 1 5th of peoples hard drives like a lot of games these days. I was genuinely astounded to find out that monster hunter world was only 14GB on xbox and only 24GB on PC WITH the high res textures downloaded.

Souls games are generally small because there isn't much actual game there. If a Souls game had easy difficulty you could beat it in a few hours.

Maybe you could beat in a few hours if they were easy, never thought about it... DS2 is pretty massive though, but it’s hard to compare file size because it’s last gen. I’m not going to act like I know anything about what takes a lot of space, but those games also have much higher enemy variety, each with a much larger than average move set. I’ll assume that type of coding doesn’t take as much space as the lines of code for environmental detail, shading & whatnot.
