Disgusting, but it's what I expect from Nintendo. Love their games, hate their business practices. I'll stick to MK8 on Switch, thanks. This game was an obvious attempt to just cash in on the name. Literally cashing in on the name...

I think the problem is DENA and not Nintendo. If you look at all games developed by DENA you will see how money hungry they are.

I'm not 100% who DENA are but surely Nintendo would not allow them to potentially damage their IP if they didn't agree with what they were doing. I'd say Nintendo is just as much to blame here.

bluefox7552030d ago

Regardless, Nintendo still allowed it to happen.

PhoenixUp2031d ago

$40 should be the price for MK8D if Nintendo believed in dropping the price of their games

This is revolting. Diddy Kong finally returns in a racing game and this is the BS people gotta deal with if they wanna play as him.

Fly off to the edge of your tracks with this one, Nintendo.

Nintendo finally figured out mobile gaming. People don't want to pay a one time fee like with Super Mario Run. They want to be nickled and dimed. Just look at Dragalia Lost, FE Heroes and that AC game. All made more money than Super Mario Run. A game with no microtranactions and a game that failed as a negligible amount of people paid for the full game. $10 is apparently too much for one game outright but spending hundreds of dollars in another game over time is just right. Its crazy but that's what a lot of people who frequent smart devices want. They love the chase and are willing to spend money to get want they want faster even for things things that can be unlocked through normal gameplay. As a traditional gamer I never understand that but I also don't have a gambling problem. Its a shitty practice but I can't stop people from buying into it. If they want to blow their paychecks its on them. lol

I think the issue is we live in a time where people want everything now and not have to work for it. This is the same in gaming. People want the best guns, cars etc now not next week or to work for it.

But as you say its up to people on how they spend there money and if they want to do this on in game things they can. For me I like the satisfaction of earning my levels, cars, character, armour etc in games rather than just paying for them.

The game is surprisingly good for a mobile game but that's really expensive dlc almost as much as a dcs fighter plane

Wow you weren't kidding. Ninty really thinks they're so special they can just ignore "complete edition" pricing standards. They milk their fan base for every nickel smh

FinalFantasyFanatic261d ago

Nintendo and their crappy pricing scheme at it again.
