Bruce Straley, Robh Ruppel, and Jonathan Stein reflect on the making of Uncharted 2
The kind of game that was so good it changed game design for the industry going forward. The bar was set.
It truly did. The bar was set, and ND continues to raise that bar.
They had many copy cats after but no one could come close. They even outdid themselves. I don't think 3 and 4 reached that level.
Uncharted 2 is ten already.... Damn, that really sinks in. Honestly, Drake's Fortune felt largely experimental to me while Among Thieves was Naughty Dog's way of saying, "ok, we figured it out. Take this series seriously." This was the game that really solidified their place on PS3.
Man those snowy hymalayan mountain tops were perfect for christmas time.
For sure. That snow tech was astonishing to look at.
Still my favourite in the series i completed it so many times
Cant wait to play it again.. Buying Nathan drake collection..
For me it was the best Uncharted!
For sure. It truly is the perfect sequel.
I couldn’t agree more. I don’t believe I’ve seen a sequel done better since U2’s release. Not just offering visuals that were a generational leap, but improving on every aspect/area of the game possible from the original.
Time sure flies.... Those were truly exciting days in the gaming industry. They don't make games like that anymore.
Man 10 years it was an awesome game back then and it still is now.
It's still my favorite game ever!
The only game to top U2 last gen imo was TLOU. By far my favorite game last gen.
I liked 3 WAY more.
First time I heard that one.
3 was a great game on its own, but I felt like it was just "good and fun" next to Uncharted 2. The plane scene was the high point of 3 for me, but the train scene and building scene in 2 were both just "whoa" moments for me. Different strokes, of course. There's plenty to appreciate about both games.
The soundtrack to this game is better than a lot of full sequels.
