Destiny 2: Shadowkeep review – a new start or the same old story? | Metro

Short, unsatisfying campaign that fails to do or say anything new. No new races, no new planets, and too much nostalgia. The amount of reused content is becoming absurd.

That may be the case but I will say, Destiny is still some of the most fun I've had this entire generation. It's certainly not perfect, but I've probably poured more hours into Destiny 1 and 2 than all other games this gen combined.

I had 2000hrs in D1 I got maybe 800 in this its just not as good period and its not getting better shadowkeep is ok but honestly I fought crota, Phogath, the vex, the hive and fallen enough its time to shit or get off the pot man.

The Shadowkeep campaign ended the way it did because the story is going to unfold with the expansions coming out over the course of the next year. Bungie has said this several times.

I'll be honest, I have beaten the new story content on one of my characters and am just starting it again on my second character. It was... ok I guess. Nowhere near as grand or epic as Forsaken's story was. This one doesn't even really explain itself very well, you get to the end and it's sort of just a cliffhanger for some future events. I definitely didn't feel the same sort of gratification I did when I completed the Forsaken story.

That being said, I have played a bunch of the new content and it's ok for now. Time will tell if it gets boring and tedious like D2 had gotten over the past few months. Will need to try out the new raid once I am the appropriate power level.

So the jury is still out for me, but anyone who was expecting as much as there was with the Forsaken expansion will be sorely disappointed.

The story is continuing over the course of the year, and they said before release that it wasn't going to be close the the size of Forsaken. It is closer to Rise of Iron.

I get that, but it's a little cheap to be like here's some story, we'll finish it later. I get it's not as big of an expansion, and it's priced as such. But they just didn't do a very good job explaining much. I am a hardcore Destiny player and I will be following along with the story, so we shall see how it all plays out. So far it's good, but certainly not great.

They were saying that this was going to rival TTK and this DLC in no way reaches that scale. This DLC was plain lazy. We've waited two years for the Pyramid to play its part and it tuned out to be nothing. We battled a dozen bosses which weren't real, just dreams of which we had defeated before. It was terrible the more you look back at it.

Just because people are playing doesn't mean it's what they want. We all play many games that we wish could be better, whether a little better or a lot.

lol not surprising, people just don't realize Bungie is recycling over and over their gaming code assets in Destiny just with some added tweaks and yet these lazy devs come up in front saying: "Oh look at this, this is totally new and fresh, ", while in their minds are like: "Let's see how many fall for this, *creepy smile".

Forsaken was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better. This new "DLC" is like playing D1 with slightly different Hive. I love D2 and I've played it more than any other game this gen but it's a bit of a backhand slap to the veteran fans.
