...not sure how I feel about this.
On the one hand, I absolutely love Detective Noir stuff.
On the other hand...furries.

The Blacksad comics were written and drawn by a Spanish ex-Disney animator (back when they did drawn animation) and that's why it has animal characters because it's what he knew. It's not a "furries" thing as some here make out, well at least not intentionally, maybe that crowd may like it but think of it more as a film noir thing done in a mature Disney style. I loved the comic novels as the art was breath-taking in it's detail and am looking forward to this game releasing but I have no interest in any weird humans portrayed as animal fetish.

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "When considering what Blacksad: Under the Skin accomplishes – mechanically and narratively – it's a shame its initial 2019 release was so rough. While still not polished to a purr-fect sheen, enough work has been done to lucidly evaluate the game proper: design, narrative, and so on. Sure, TellTale's trappings will be immediately felt – a couple of which are inconsistently implemented, but certain tweaks naturally map onto this world and give it a special attitude. Better yet, it's a sound foundation on which to support a well-acted & enthralling noir yarn that's worth unspooling."
