Control on PC for me. I prefer high production value. I dont even want to think about what astral chain would look like on my television.

SpeedDemon2069d ago

Why did you buy a Switch for then? Just to try and validate your complants of every little thing Nintendo does?

KeenBean3452069d ago

Here I thought people couldn't get more embarrassing on this site jeez

AnubisG2069d ago

I see you are actually proud of that picture that is why you showed it off. I would not be my man. That is a mess.

King_Noctis2069d ago

High production value? What? Astral Chain is one of the best looking Switch game out there right now, if not the best. You must have missed the memo.

Also I feel bad for you if graphic is the only thing you’re after in a game.

TK-662069d ago

Lol who do you think your fooling?

Last_Boss2069d ago

What they look like and what they're about is 2 totally different matters.

mikeslemonade2069d ago

I already have my copy of Astral Chain. It’s akin to DMC. DMC5 is better than Astral Chain, so this confirms that metacritic inflates Nintendo games. You have deduct 6 points off switch games to make it even to standard current gen games.

Kumakai2068d ago (Edited 2068d ago )

I don’t have a pc but I do have a One X and too have been playing a lot of Control. Love it. Don’t have that dope RTX stuff but it still looks damn good - especially for a console. I gave my Switch to my nephew.

Neonridr2068d ago

right because Platinum is known for just shoehorning their games together with no direction or purpose..

Do you honestly read what you type before you hit the add button?

Astral Chain score better, and is longer with better replayability. So I’d go with it.

However, just get both if you can.

shuvam092068d ago

Control for me...
Coz I don't have a Switch...
Besides, those desctructible environments in Control look sweet...

TricksterArrow2069d ago

Comic book special agent for me.

Samus7072069d ago

Respect your choice, different strokes for different folks, but if you have a Switch, please support Astral Chain as well. It’s actually refreshing and feels incredible to play.

TricksterArrow2068d ago

I tend to give it a go eventually, but I'm a sucker for dark mysteries and weird science such as Fringe, X-Files and Annihilation. Control is a no brainer for me right now. (:

SockeyBoy2069d ago

Astral Chain and Man of Medan for me today 😁

Unspoken2069d ago

Control and Medan would be the ultimate combo.

King_Noctis2069d ago

For those who don’t own a Switch anyway.

Unspoken2069d ago

True, quality switch games should be endorsed. Nice addition to the library.

LoveSpuds2069d ago

Both look great and I love both genres, I have gambled that Control will end up discounted sooner and will receive more patches whilst Astral will maintain its price for a year and probably require less patching. I will play Astral Chain now but definitely pick up Control in a few weeks time.

Eldyraen2069d ago

It’s a Nintendo exclusive, pretty safe bet it’s price won’t fall much ;)

I went with Control first though since it’s out now and wanted something new after a storm took out electricity here for 2 days. Rewarding myself with a new toy after that as it’s been both dark and hot.

Shuckylad2069d ago

Might skip both and dig out the Dreamcast

Shuckylad2069d ago

Yeah! Was thinking a bit of power stone 2

Key Platinum Games Directors, Including Astral Chain and Bayonetta’s, Depart the Studio

Can someone like SEGA offer to buy the studio at this point?

BlaqMagiq182d ago

Even if they buy them, they'd be buying a shell of a studio at this point. Almost everyone that mattered to the studio is gone.

CrimsonWing6982d ago

Never a good sign. They lost Hideki Kamiya, which was arguably the top tier of their talent list. So, seeing this is like the writing on the wall. They got Ninja Gaiden 4 coming, so hopefully that’ll deliver and keep them going.

PhoenixRising3782d ago

Hopefully this doesn't affect Ninja Gaiden 4 too much.

eh?
They better not mess much with the Max Payne Remake(s)

Yui_Suzumiya159d ago

Yeah but this was announced before the Max Payne Remake after all

LucasRuinedChildhood159d ago (Edited 159d ago )

What does "unlocking some previously released content" actually mean though? I would imagine it should be "previously unreleased content". Bit odd.

DaReapa159d ago

Right. Especially since the Ultimate Edition supposedly contained everything.

raWfodog159d ago

I only played about an hour of Control when I added it to my library back when it was one of the PS+ ‘free’ games. I’ll start it over again after the early 2025 update is dropped. I keep hearing that it’s a good game.

jznrpg159d ago

You can make that statement for any game. It’s called gameplay loop. Not everyone is going to enjoy the same loops but all games are repetitive by nature

RedDevils159d ago

Agree it was very boring game. Could not get into it. Remember me the game I played on PS3 is still better than this.

Chocoburger159d ago

These days "RPG" translates to constantly grinding for experience points, wasting time upgrading gear, and repeatedly collecting resources off the ground.

Please don't be an Ubishit style filler game.

Yui_Suzumiya159d ago

Hopefully it'll be more like Mass Effect

Amplitude159d ago (Edited 159d ago )

Remedy doesn't really make mistakes. It'll be good, I'm sure.

Inverno159d ago

So in other words it's an action game needlessly fluffed out with RPG mechanics and a pointless leveling system. I really enjoy RPGs when they're actually RPGs but modern action games really tire me out when they shoehorn in mechanics they don't need. All this does is make a 20 hour game into a 40 hour game because missions become locked behind level requirements, and enemies become damage sponges. It's not fun, it's tedious.

Remedy is leaving Epic in the dark place to self-publish Control 2

Remedy will self-publish Control 2 as part of a new "strategic cooperation agreement" with Annapurna. A press release accompanying the announcement says Annapurna will provide half of Control 2's development budget, and in return gains the rights to adapt Control and Alan Wake for film and television.

TheNamelessOne242d ago

Devs backing EPIC didn't last long. I just can't understand why ... /s

porkChop241d ago (Edited 241d ago )

This isn't about the store. Epic published the game on all platforms. They want to self publish because they couldn't recoup Alan Wake 2's budget.

Killer2020UK241d ago

...because Epic chose to restrict its PC release to the Epic store and completely restrict it's physical release until later this year.

Vits241d ago

It’s connected, though. They couldn’t recoup the costs because Epic restricted the places and formats where the game could be released, literally removing the biggest PC distribution channels from the equation. And they also sold the game cheaper than a traditional full release, solely to support their statements at the launch of the Epic Games Store that PC games would be cheaper if it weren’t for Steam.

RaidenBlack241d ago

Dang, nice ... Alan Wake II is an amazing game
Can't wait for Control 2 and Max Payne Remakes

DustMan241d ago

Not sure why your getting down voted because you found Alan Wake 2 amazing. I'm in the same boat as you. Can't wait for Control 2 & the Max Payne remakes. Max Payne 1 & 2 were some of my favorite pc games from my early teens lol.

RaidenBlack241d ago

Coz N4G logic.
You cant praise a game if its got no physical release, not releasing on PS etc

isarai241d ago

Maybe this time we'll actually get a day 1 physical release

JEECE241d ago

And hopefully Steam/GOG options on PC.
