I especially agree with #2, #3 and #4.
I would love for them to buy Platinum Games, what they could do with a larger budget and better support would be something to see
I think these choices each make some sense. I bet they do grab Remedy or get some exclusive deal with them, but I don't think Sony really needs another studio making 3rd person action/adventure games.
I'd rather see them look for a studio for a new shooter (4A games maybe), maybe a fighting game studio (ARC System?), or an RPG studio (even though they don't have the history - I hope somebody gets Mistwalker back to consoles).
I could also see them grab Bluepoint and task them with remaking classic PS games.
I know these types of articles trigger some but it's the context that matters. You have to look at the company in question that's doing the buying and what type of track record they have. No one is immune to closures so there's that but I would look at how much creative freedom devs have with said company and if they are pigeonholed into certain types of games they make or if they are allowed to scratch those creative itches and I'd say Sony is the later.
To me any of these would be a good fit for the Worldwide Studios umbrella, especially Quantic Dream, Supermassive, From Software and Remedy.
