Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Microsoft's premium service for Xbox One owners, is cheaper to try right now as part of a limited-time offer for new subscribers. At Gamescom Microsoft announced that DMC V, Dead Cells, Blair Witch, and even more games would be joining the ever growing library of games on Xbox GamePass.

Microsoft first announced Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at E3 2019, and it's been ramping up its offerings for the subscription ever since. Game Pass Ultimate combines Xbox Live Gold, a service that gets you free monthly games and exclusive discounts, with Game Pass for both Xbox One and PC, which grants you unlimited access to a huge library of games, with new games added regularly.

Well if you look at there quarterly earnings recently and how they made over 10 Billion dollars on Xbox. They did state people are keeping their memberships with Gamepass due to a high satisfaction rate.

They are making plenty of money, and more importantly they are GAINING fans and people who are enjoying all types of games on THEIR service. Word of mouth and satisfied gamers is a good way to get some of the best publicity.

It's an introductory offer. Ms plans for this are long term, and the more they capture now, the easier itll be in the future.

Its losing money right now, but think of it as a marketing budget. They front the cost now, in the hopes that itll net a return profit later.

You pretty much nailed it. Maybe short term they aren’t making much money, but long term they are hoping that people remain engaged.

I was meh in the beginning with game pass, but as time has gone on I’ve been pretty happy with it. I was planning on canceling my subscription after the trail, but now I think I may keep it. I don’t subscribe to Netflix or Hulu, or any video streaming because I simply don’t watch anything. I game.
For the same price I get to play all these games.
Maybe it’s not for everyone, but if you find the vaule it is very well worth it.

UFail 1. Nope, the charge lasts for more than one session of gameplay I get at least 3 3.5 hour sessions before it needs charging.
UFail 2. I'm pretty sure almost everyone has at least two controllers for their console be it a PS4, XB1 or Switch, so one can be charging while using the other. How many controllers do you have for XB1? (oh plus all the batteries ya need!)

Ufail 4. I like video games, be it on PS4 or XB1 and to some extent even Switch. So I read articles.

I got the charge station for 14:99 came with two rechargeable batteries but double A is an option if I want to start playing right away and ya know you can buy rechargeable double A 👀 I know its mind blowing.But besides that im just talking crap I like both systems I just always favored the Xbox more because of graphics and the controller since OG xbox.Im late to the party I was on PC until Ps4 pro came out, weirdly enough I predicted the mid gen refresh I joked about sony and Microsoft making ps3.5 and 360.5 with missing features and how they should apologize and start over and than boom years later refreshments the One X and Pro I had to get them both I like the X more technically although my favorite game I played this gen was Horizon Zero Dawn.

I'd rather invest in another controller, than a charging unit and rechargeable batteries.
Less junk around the house and the bonus option of when a friend over, or daughter/wife etc they can jump in with another controller. But whatever.

Less junk around the house whats junky about a controller dock that came with batteries that go into the controller it can stay there you dont have to remove the battery if you dont want too your choice to make 😮 and how much space does a AA battery take up in your home its like the most commonly used battery for electronics.If I forget to charge I can just take some double A’s pop them in then boom no wait for me my son are my daughter. Im glad im not stuck with a closed designed gamepad with an generic Microsoft internal battery inside it.but ya know whatever

So a wire plugged into the back of my PS4 in my media rack charging a controller not in use is much less conspicuous.

There’s plenty of AAA games already out there and there’s more that are named coming to gamepass still. Devs have been speaking highly of it as well. I don’t see where the AAA’s are going to die from being on the service
