According to Ubisoft's CEO, Yves Guillemot, the publisher is working on the brand bit by bit to eventually allow for a Splinter Cell return.
Eurogamer: "Xbox's Matt Booty has spoken more on the closure of Tango Gameworks earlier this year."
I call BS on this. All metrics were met apparently or was that another lie. There's something deeper happening within xbox's management
The gaming media better get on board with these sort of articles as MS buying up the industry means you guys won't get review copies or exclusive news unless you push the MS narrative.
The MS narrative "it's everyone else's fault."
WARNING ⚠️ SARCASM AHEAD WARNING ⚠️ sure they have an awful management with sexual harassment and embezzlement of funds so let’s close the studio we just purchased and leave games in the table. END OF SARCASM
( insert here a comic strip of guy thrown out of window for suggesting firing the management )
RED writes: "For the last 8 years, The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine had the honor of being the best reviewed expansion for a role-playing game - but @ELDENRING
gets to wear that crown now. Congratulations to the entire team at @fromsoftware_pr on their stellar work!"
Classy and respectful, and yet they're wrong - Blood and Wine was and is the absolute pinnacle of what DLC should be.
These are terrific expansions. Blood and Wine, Phantom Liberty, Shadow of the Erdtree, Old Hunters Far Harbor and Shivering Isles are experiences worthy of paid DLC.
“Everything takes time,” says studio’s technology head. “We are committed to sharpening our skills!”
I’d rather devs took their time instead of trying to kill themselves trying to meet strict deadlines. Games end up better that way.
I actually don’t want it current Ubisoft is all about open world games with microtransactions I don’t want to see Splinter Cell going that route.
An always online game.
I don't understand why when it comes to the Splinter Cell IP Ubisoft has to stealthily bring the series back(other than using analogies) when they can reinvent a huge property like Assassins Creed, Watchdogs or fund new IP's Ike For Honor, Skull and Bones or Gods & Monsters!
Why not just get back to basics but with contemporary twists. Surly modern tech could see a Splinter Cell game that so many fans want. Also it doesn't need to be open world. Why not take a page from the recent Hitman games?!?! Have Sam travel all over the globe and each area is a vast open area that can see the objectives completed in a number of ways.
Have cloak and dagger play a big part and they could also update the ahead of its time spy's vs mercs. I don't see the hesitation because I think if done right it could be a really great series once again!
Online only co-op, cosmetic microtransactions, pay to win, empty openworld, am I close ?
