Kill la Kill The Game: IF looks good, but lacks mechanical depth, narrative nuance, or a breadth of content to match.
Mikhail: "I think every Kill la Kill fan has wanted a game based on the series at some point. Fans of the anime who have also played any character action game probably desperately wanted PlatinumGames to be behind the wheel for it, sadly, some things don’t work out. But when you have the best fighting game developer in the world announce a Kill la Kill game, it impossible to not get excited. It seemed too good to be true and that’s when it looked like we had a monkey paw situation with APLUS being revealed as the developer. Thankfully, the end result is excellent and Kill la Kill The Game: IF is absolutely worth your time if you enjoyed the anime."
KILL la KILL The Game: IF features exciting arena fighting action and silly yet engaging yarn that together form an exclusive episode for the quirky franchise. The presentation is big, bold and in-your-face, creating a handsome package you really want to dig into.
PlayStation LifeStyle: "Much like the anime that came before it, Kill la Kill: the Game is weird, wild, and loud, but also a bit shallow. However, the core is rock solid, and will certainly provide people who live in the anime fighter space a good several hours of fighter hype."
What a shame, this series should have been a 2D fighter along the same line as DBFighterZ
Just a reminder that this site gave Jump Force a 6.3, another arena fighter that also lacks narrative nuance and mechanical depth.
Would still play this over most other mediocre anime arena fighters like Knights of Britannia.
I'd be surprised if there were people disappointed with the game. What did you expect from a game made by the same people who worked on LWA: Chamber of Time and that Asterisk War vita game? And even, this is probably their best title, and I'm still planning on getting the game, though definitely not right now.
I don't know, the demo was fun.
Didn't look very deep and the hype for the show is over. Not today.
