God of War Art Director Makes His Own Version of Cuphead Characters

Since the original announcement of Studio MDHR’s Cuphead, everyone was blown away by it’s amazing 1930’s cartoon style. Upon release, the game was met with critical acclaim from both industry members and consumers alike.

As of yesterday, the art director for God of War Raf Grassetti took to Twitter with his personal versions of the two famous Cuphead villains King Dice and The Devil and it is rad.

There could be a number of reasons.

Maybe people don't like Cuphead or God of War, or maybe they don't like the art, or maybe they don't like the artist, or maybe they don't like fact that a God of War artist likes and is paying homage to characters from an indie game with no PlayStation affiliation.

Tribal pettiness occurs frequently here, which prompted the latter portion of my earlier statement.

Just blows my mind. It's not like the God of War art director said, "...NOW this, THIS is what the game SHOULD have looked like" or something. He loves the game and felt inspired to make his own rendition of the characters. There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this story, the topic, the people covered or the opinions expressed here in the comment, especially yours.

N4G can just be absolutely baffling some days.
