SwitchedOn Gamer writes: Crash Bandicoot is back and as big as it has ever been, but how will Activision handle the series now that the most requested remakes have been done.
What was that bandicoot against mario thing with the ps1? I though over time they lost the rights to the title and Activision picked it up. Wasn't ND always Sony 1st party?
Sony never owned rights to Crash Bandicoot. Naughty Dog did not either. Universal Interactive Studios had rights to both Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon. From there Vivendi acquired rights from Universal then Activision gained rights from Vivendi.
Naughty Dog started off as a Universal Interactive Studios backlot studio. Crash Bandicoot was created even before the release of the PSOne with a name of “Willie the Wombat”.
Hopefully a new crash game that's big and expansive. But true to it's style in nature. Maybe like a giant overworld and you find stages that run like a normal crash game? I don't know but better not only be remakes. Wrath is the last game I'm okay with being remade, or I guess bash too. But nothing more. CTR is going to keep doing great for them for a while seeing the support for it is crazy good so we'll likely not see anything until next gen at earliest
Does it need to go anywhere I love the original trilogy but like Spyro watching crash age has been horrific. I think I'd much prefer the sick with the remaster and key that age gracefully
Either they somehow convince Naughty Dog to give them some advice, or it goes downhill from here like "The wrath of cortex," slips into obscurity once again for 10 years, then Activision decides to re-master the re-masters once again for a new generation, the cycle continues..
Well, Crash came back as a hit again, with the remakes. Since Activision (or whoever under them) released garbage games about the bandicoot, i'd say they can leave it as it is: a great character that made a great return and now he needs to retire. It's sad, but Crash is doomed if not in the hands of Naughty Dog. Unless a talented studio manages to re-create the atmosphere and the feeling the good old Crash can give. In that case yes, i'd be more than happy to play a new Crash.
Like all former icons he'll go behind a dumpster and service Grimace or Harvey Weinstein for narcotics until an early death from an overdose.
Or he could end up as a back-up dancer for Brittney Spears, either way it'll be bleak and horrifying ….
To Jak and Daxter? I kid but man I miss that precursor place.
To the right
Hopefully with a brand new Crash Bandicoot game made the traditional way.
Garbage bin? I kid, but honestly, outside of the remakes for the nostalgia I cant imagine a new entry being all that great.
