keep the improvements coming baby. Gamepass with another win

anonymousfan2167d ago

I agree but I wish a feature like that could have been used to prevent games from being removed... My worst fear is to have an unfinished game removed from gamepass before I can complete it

gangsta_red2167d ago

Unfortunately not even MS can prevent that as each game has an agreement to be on the service for a certain amount of time.

I'm not sure but maybe there could be an actual date on each game letting people know how long it'll be there for.

I remember Netflix having something similar when it first rolled out their streaming service. They removed it though later down the line.

DEEHULK882167d ago

Gangsta_red I think that there's an area that says games leaving soon.

DEEHULK882167d ago

They wouldn't be able to prevent games from leaving because they don't own third party games. The only games that they can dtsy on without worrying about them leaving are the ones that are made by Microsoft.

loxim2167d ago

Is there a section on game pass that filters by games that are leaving soon? I keep seeing this mentioned but don't see it anywhere.

gangsta_red2167d ago

@dee

Really? I'm definitely not aware of that section.

iplay1up22167d ago

They warn you well in advance, when a game is being taken off the service. Also you have the option to purchase the game at a discounted price before it leaves Games Pass

franwex2167d ago (Edited 2167d ago )

It happened to me:/
They took the game out!

Donnie812167d ago

From what I understand if a game is on gamepass and you have it downloaded you can continue to play it as long as you have an active membership

Unspoken2167d ago

Option to buy at a discounted rate prior to removal should be a feature. Already is to a degree but maybe with an expiration notification or the discount still applies even after removal.

UnHoly_One2167d ago

@donnie, is that really a thing?

So if I just download every single gamepass game I have them forever as long as I'm a member, even when they leave the service?

That doesn't seem like they would allow it to work that way.

DEEHULK882162d ago

If you download the Gamepass app, you will be able to download games from there and see what is leaving soon.

Unfortunately I think so. Not anytime soon. But in a few years time. They want that on everything.

Won't happen, software is where all the money is made. These companies take losses on these consoles and then make up for it with software sales.
