Nintendo Needs A Streaming Service to Keep the Switch Relevant

Nintendo is non-committal to the idea of streaming services and cloud gaming, but it's time they take advantage of some exciting possibilities.

They do have cloud saves now, but an achievement system would be cool. Just take the mission system from My Nintendo and implement that into games. Give people gold coins for completing missions.

Cloud saves exist now except for certain games like the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons which is dumb. An achievement system would be nice though.

Switch doesn’t need game streaming at all. It’s selling very well and has amazing Nintendo exclusives that people love.

Exactly. Nintendo has always done things a little differently and that is what works for them and their fanbase is happy with that. The Switch is most definitely RELEVANT you can't brush this thing off especially with how well it has sold. Nintendo making a huge turnaround since the Wii U. I may not own one but I am definitely interested at some point!

If that was the case you would be arguing that AAA 1st party exclusives do not really matter. They do matter. You may not like the ones that Nintendo have, but they have them. Look at the sales of the AAA games, and then look at the ratings/meta reviews. Sounds like you have not tried them if you think they don't exist.

Nintendo franchises and intellectual properties are some of my favorite first party games. In fact, Nintendo is my favorite game company. I was only commenting on a hypothetical Nintendo streaming service, not their games.
I prefer physical games to streaming services.

No it won't. Stuff like Pokémon will sell more than any PS5 or Scarlett exclusive.

So if Nintendo has the best selling exclusives then they're hardly "irrelevant".

There will be a more powerful Switch and Nintendo will continue to pump out megaton exclusives and then you will be able to stream anything on the Switch In a few years, which could make Microsoft and Sony less relevant.

I would like to be able to stream to youtube like on ps4, but thats about it. No game streaming subscription to the system is needed at all.

It came in 2018. There are a couple ways to get it. Fast way is you just go to 'eshop'....then click 'search'...then type 'youtube' press enter (or + button on controller) it will come up. It's free add to cart and checkout(it's free). You will see the download status right below it and it will install! Now it will show up in your like of apps' .

A LOT of people like me just use my PS4 PRO for single player games 90% of the time same with Nintendo Switch, same with PC. I have not touched my xb1 because of Privacy issues in a year. But if I was I would not be a Mutiplayer game person. Speaking of that SWITCH and X1x where crossplaying last year on fortnight so they DO have it.

Nintendo's first party games are what keep them relevant. They haven't needed to follow in anyone else's footsteps for just that reason.

That device would explode with such features, they would need to upgrade that hardware before they even think about this. Furthermore, I have little confidence Nintendo would do this correct, online/cloud gaming is and will never be their forte.
