Layers of Fear 2 Review - Ghost Ship | GameSpot

Layers of Fear 2 swaps the mind of a tortured painter for one of a tortured actor, setting sail for the high seas in a sequel that disappoints.

IGN gives it a 9/10 “Amazing”
Gamespot gives it 5/10 “Disappoints”

And you wonder why we can’t take reviews serious these days.

SyntheticForm2177d ago

I liked the first one, so I'm going to disregard the GameSpot reviewer's take on this, but I will read it. I just already know this is a game I'll like.

Team Bloober made these and they made Observer which is another game I dug.

Gaming1012177d ago

Unbelievable. Scores are literally all over the place ranging from 5/10 to 10/10. Reviews are such clickbait nonsense these days.

rob-GP2177d ago

It’s a great game, we reviewed it yesterday too on PS4. Has everything you’d expect from Bloober Team. I’m not a horror fan but I loved Observer, so I played this one too and I was hooked. The story is a bit iffy as I couldn’t really follow it (may be me), but the action and the way the devs mess with your head, shifting and changing the environment around you, is awesome.

GOODKylePS2177d ago

Dude above me accuses others of not finishing games before reviewing and then blocks people when proof is provided. I've also seen him score a bunch of titles way higher than the norm. Nothing wrong with that of course but something to consider before casting aside other reviews and realize this guy attacks others for their scores.

Yeah everyone should have the same opinion on everything.

Lol assuming you’re being sarcastic, upvote for you , common sense prevails

SyntheticForm2177d ago (Edited 2177d ago )

Exactly.

Why are IGN and GameSpot supposed to agree on anything; because they're the biggest outlets? Why not actually read the written review? It conveys the opinion much more thoroughly. Numbers are OK if they're part of a compartmentalized assessment e.g., graphics, sound, fun factor, etc, otherwise they're cursory nonsense.

Finally, I can't believe people still spew nonsense like "How did this get a 'this' while this game got a 'that?' How can you not consider different people, different games, and different opinions?

Fuck.

killswitch802176d ago

they should only have people review games that enjoy those types of games. They always stick someone that only plays Pokémon games to do something like this. It was icky 5/10

Atom6662177d ago

So you're saying you disagree with one or both of these scores? Kind of like how these two reviewers obviously disagree with each other?

My question is which one was the SJW? Which one has the agenda? I have to know where to direct my outrage!!

killswitch802176d ago

yup I havent gone off review scores since the turning of the decade. Now its all about politics. I do enjoy pointing it out often how terrible the review systems are now.

Didn't even know this existed until reviews.
