So sad PC gaming has been dying for over 2 decades now /s

Kornholic2223d ago (Edited 2223d ago )

PC has a user base larger than PS4 and Xbox One combined and still manages to sell less. Sad.

Vegamyster2223d ago

A larger user base because you can put store fronts like Steam on a potato to play games like Counter Strike, it doesn't really mean anything without the exact data for the hardware that's used. It's hardly sad that a open platform is making similar profit for developers as a console, it's a good sign of a healthy market and benefits everyone regardless of platform.

MadLad2222d ago (Edited 2222d ago )

My mom owns a computer; that neither makes her a gamer, nor dictate she's going to run out and download Witcher 3, you disengenuous knob.

Kornholic2222d ago

I'm talking about Steam users. Man you are stupid.

MadLad2222d ago

You ignorantly choose not to differentiate any ten year old home computer that may have had Steam put on it at one point, and a dedicated gaming machine.

I'm the dull one though. Ha.

Kornholic2222d ago

Steam has over 150 million active users, 90 million active monthly users. PS4 has around 90 million users total and Xbox One has a bit less. Man you are stupid.

MadLad2222d ago

Though every time you post on the subject, people seemingly disagree with you.

Maybe you're just a dense person who can't register the bigger picture.

Vegamyster2222d ago

So what if Steam has 150 million active users? What are the specs for those users? If you look at Valves hardware surveys 12.57% of users have a 1366 x 768 monitor which is a old laptop display, that's just under 20 million of the install base right there. If you combine all the old desktop/laptop GPU's that can't do modern gaming you're probably looking at another 10%-20%, comparing PC to Console install bases is not black and white, there is a ton of variables.

Kornholic2222d ago

It means that PC has a larger active user base than PS4 and Xbox One combined and still managed to sell less than half of the copies of PS4 and Xbox One combined.

Vegamyster2222d ago

It means your turning a complex variable into a black & white answer, there is a random assortments of laptops, home computers compared to dedicated gaming hardware that all use Steam. If you look at the percentage of users running gaming capable hardware, it's lower than the total PS/Xbox hardware sales, the idea that you find it "sad" that people with old cheap laptops ect aren't buying games like The Witcher 3 since they can't even boot it up is silly lol, why do you think system requirements are a thing?

I don't know you but I haven't bought a PS game in like 3 years, all the recent games have been on PC for me.

So sad elitist peasants only argue about stuff that doesn't give a shit to them.

2015-2018. Please hare data for first year, i bet PS4 leaded. It's not secret PC games sell better on later date, if gone cheaper, while majority of console sales are just opposite.

no wonder. you need to be a complete moron to play such an rpg game on consoles.

Or on a 15 inch laptop with claw mouse grip.

Wow, I would have thought more.

A switch 2 update might be a nice way to celebrate it for people who brought the switch 1 version

4Scarrs_Gaming36d ago

This is exactly what I was thinking too.

gigoran835d ago (Edited 35d ago )

It will be for a price. unfortunately not like the PS5 where a majority of them were free.

anast36d ago

Cool, can we get a controller sensitivity option for the PS5? Geralt going full sprint when I barely touch the controller is keeping me from playing this game a 3rd time.

I would have included the Uncharted games as well. Good list though.

Yui_Suzumiya62d ago

Island would be #1 but that would be anything from Frontwing.

Haha it is not lost on me that two of the games in the top four were already novels before they were games

The Witcher 3 PC Optimized Settings: Next Gen Update & Ray Tracing Performance

Actually just picked this up yesterday on Steam, since it's $9.99 for the game and all the DLC. I've owned it for years on Playstation, but honestly never put a whole lot of time into it. Though I knew I had to play through it one day because I loved what I did play. It runs so buttery smooth on PC. Still a really beautiful game with everything maxed out settings-wise at 4K.

jznrpg185d ago

Damn man that’s a long ass wait for a game you were feeling good about. I beat it the first time over 9 years ago
