While Avengers: Endgame is still dominating the box office around the world, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu came mighty close to toppling Earth’s Greatest Heroes, as the move came at #2 in its opening weekend. Pokémon: Detective Pikachu opened with $58 million over the weekend and opened up on Thursday night with $5.7 million during its preview night in North America. Analysts forecasted high as $80 million opening weekend for the first live-action Pokémon movie but internal forecasting placed the movie at around $50 million.
