I really don't care what IGN thinks of games. I hope people like the game. But I'll ask trusted friends before I rely upon IGN or the like.

IGN is an entity, but it's an entity made up of individual entities. These entities are autonomous. They don't tow a company line - they're all different. Lucy O'Brien is far, far different from Dan Stapleton for example.

I look at each individual reviewer, because that's more objective and reasonable than slapping IGN with a broad brush.

This isn't to say I never disagree with their reviewers because I certainly do. Lucy is one example.

IGN is a garbage site but there are a few good people left there. Most of the ones anyone respected are gone. Lucy O'brien is a pure example of trash and she should not be at IGN. Their need for diversity leads to finding the worst people from the left pool. Tina Amini is another one. Former Kotaku employee, total idiot, and now in charge of the gaming division at IGN. It's sad. You have to look at the individual person and what they are review. I go to Daemon and the Game Scoop guys for oldschool games, the lovely Casey DeFritas for Monster Hunter, Max for weebo Japanese games and Brian Altano for everything becasue he's awesome.

IGN 7.8/10 "Too much Fodder" but they have a very VERYYYYY small group of decent people left.

I know what exactly to expect from this game, so I can see myself fully enjoying it. It's all about expectations and how much fun you have with it. I can see myself just going balls to the wall with the amount of guns and gadgets they offer which is why I'm looking forward to it.

This is IGN we are talking about, i never trust scores from them ever since it was revealed they get paid for reviews. I have been seeing 6 to 7's but it is the short game time that puts me off

Just one. And then we're gonna analyze together just how credible that source is.

it's IGN, they will score a Bethesda game higher. there is almost no nitpick here as they did when they reviewed Days Gone

Why does everyone claim (and I agree) that places like IGN and Gamespot are irrelevant and not trustworthy, but every time they put out a review for a bigger game, it shoots to the top of the charts here on N4G?

Because it can't be helped. No matter what we think of these outlets, they're the biggest by far, and people are going to either agree or disagree usually based on a pre-conceived bias.

People 'want' things to be a certain way, so if IGN gives a game they 'want' to be a "10" a ten, it's fine. If they go another way, it's always because the reviewer is corrupted.

All this does is make people even 'more' curious about what IGN and GameSpot's reviewers have to say, and they'll click to read the sentiments therein.

This game looks terrible on all consoles, blurry mess. Compare this to days gone graphically is night and day. Days gone looks much better. Thats why i stress that exclusives are the real showcase when it comes to graphics on console.

Alright, but does The Order 1886 have mixed, fun combat like this, or is it a fairly bland, uninspired cover shooting the entire time? Look more closely at the picture.

The Order was good experience, but it wasn't a great game, not by a long shot. Better off as a tech demo, really.

1886 was a bland, paint by the numbers cover shooter that relegated key moments of the game to quick-time events ... and happened to be about a 4 hour experience.

The game was nothing special, and people need to stop crying. The game was an early release, and we're looking at the ps5 at this point. Let it go.

'gmannlives' said it took him around 16 hours to finish the main story, but there is huge chunk of the game he did not play yet. I am picking up Rage 2 tomorrow so i can review the game myself .

After reading the review I was expecting a 6.5, but no a 8?
Sounds like the bargain bin for me tbh, gunplay mechanics sound great but everything else above average.
I'll pick up at £25/30
