@marvel it's a race of creatures that will be selectable i can sort of understand why some people may want to be a male viera but they said they just don't have the man hours to put in to do it that was it if you read the article. It's not that they don't exist.

Well actually, in the lore of FF14, they're not. The opposite sex is just rare. At least that's what I remember reading.
Plus it'd take a shit ton of manpower and money to do it right and make sure all the gear, emotes, mounts, and whatnot work properly as well according to the Director.
