If Mankind Divided had performed better its sequel would have likely already been announced.

It was so much better than Human Revolution. That one had 2004 textures, hilarious facial animations and awful combat. Arkane Studios would be the best at making a Deus Ex game.

The usual corporate greed.
They tried to cash in on mobile, making DX:The Fall, which at its core wasnt bad, but should have been a full PC title from the start instead a stripped down port later.
Then MD got the complete greed makeover, from preorder bonuses of clearly cut content, to a Season Pass that includes consumable items which will permanently disappear from your inventory once used (ie. pay to win).
Now its "Resting" as they wait for consumers to forget, but it'll be back once they think they can milk the cow again.

Preorders is one thing but the tier system was really really bad, kind of like peer pressure to get the best possible preorder content and people wonder why this was more than enough to kill interest for the game.
(kind of relying on the bad side of people in general)yeah that's a great way to sell something.

Tbh I lost interest after the awesome original all those years ago, it's never lived upto the 1st imo ever since.

Gwiz573d ago

It's a really good game, even enhanced and mods makes it still a very great game to play.

TheOptimist573d ago

Still among the best games ever made.

Mankind divided and human revolution were good. But I guess they didn’t sell to the expectations. Also I think they are working on an avengers game instead with the possibility of returning to deus ex in the future.

The studio basically needed a break. It’s okay. I’ll be patient.

Human Revolution sold well. However, Mankind Divided didn’t. The series seems to be most successful on steam a platform we’re Human Revolution sold over 3.5 million units. I have heard Mankind Divided failed to breakeven against it 80 million CAD development budget, its sales were not good unfortunately

Human Revolution has been in the bargain bin for years on Steam. The sales in the first few months are the ones that matter most when it comes to revenue. I assume it overall still made the most money on Steam but I'd be interested in seeing how it sold on PS3, 360 and ... I suppose the Wii U as well.

Sciurus_vulgaris573d ago

@LucasRuinedChildhood

Human Revolution sold almost 1 million copies during it first week and reached over 2 million by November of its launch year. The majority of the launch sales were on 360, followed by PS3 and lastly steam. However, overtime due to steam sales, I would strongly assume the PC version of Human Revolution. I would assume the Wii U version didn’t too well, but I could be wrong.

I actually own the wiiu version, haha

They should have ported Mankind Divided to Switch.

Literal_Cringe572d ago
