Sekiro creator would like to make a Rockstar-style narrative driven game

From VG247: "Reboot Develop, a boutique games industry event in Dubrovnik, Croatia, opened with a keynote featuring FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki and Shadow of the Colossus creator Fumito Ueda.

During the talk, the pair spoke at length, via a translator, about their design ethos, during which Miyazaki said he’d like to work on a story-focused game one day."

Maybe those rumors about an open world next-gen game by From Software are really true.

Veneno2265d ago

Don't forget the collaboration with George R.R. Martin on it.

AizenSosuke2266d ago

Interesting a GTA-like game from FromSoftware would be unique

Casepb2265d ago

Do they even have the writers to do that?

Tototot2265d ago

Rumor has it miyazaki is collaborating with george r martin on the new game, hence the reason george hasnt finished the new book yet

Kabaneri2265d ago

Whaaaat? That would be epic, I didnt think Fromsoft was that big.

Tototot2265d ago

Yeah, its kind of too good to be true, the rumor states of medieval setting where you have to take over other kingdoms or factions, it has an open world setting and more akin to witcher 3 game, its gonna be announced at e3

I'd love to see what From would do with an open world game. I already love their blend of branching linear paths, so I'd love to see what they'd do with a full open world.

Honestly, Ghost of Tsushima is already looking like an open world Sekiro (maybe minus the mythical stuff) and I'm so excited for its release!

Do you not see this happening during development? Like, why are we apologizing after the fact instead of stopping it during development?

anast3h ago

It's all good, as long as the price of the product decreases.

I was unhappy with DT and have spent far less time in it than any other expansion but it's things like this that makes me respect Yoshi P. It's rare for such a high profile developer to be so candid in his assessment on a live game.

Playdead co-founder slammed with lawsuit as bitter row with co-founder escalates

Playdead co-founder Dino Patti is allegedly being sued by his former studio and business partner.
Patti was threatened with a lawsuit earlier this year after he posted a now-deleted LinkedIn post that shared an "unauthorized" picture of co-founder Arnt Jensen and discussed some of Limbo's development. Patti said Jensen demanded a little over $73,000 in "suitable compensation and reimbursement," adding that he had "repeatedly" had such letters over the last nine years.
