Prenumbra will be a return to Leviathan and Calus again? Ahhhhh no thanks.

DuckOnQuack352276d ago

That's got to be a joke. I figured things would get better after Activision, but it seems like everything will stay the same. This is just lazy imo

Kabaneri2276d ago

Bungie needs to drop Destiny and work on a new IP.

DaDrunkenJester2276d ago

I don't think so. The IP has a TON of potential, it just needs to move away from the money grubbing nature of season passes and expansions and season passes for expansions and MT's etc.

Gwiz2276d ago

Meh,after 5 years they kind of ruined it,people get tired after a while and when people no longer complain is when you have a problem.

chris2352276d ago

but you DO know that these kind of games are designed around just that? in other words you expect meat from a vegan.

UnholyLight2276d ago

I really do think Destiny has a ton of potential, just feels like it got kinda squandered in a sense. I really do miss some of the OG stuff when I was still into it with friends. Some of the best online experiences I've had since experiencing online gaming came from the Vault of Glass raid for example. So much fun.

Kornholic2276d ago (Edited 2276d ago )

The potential will never be realized. It would require a more talented studio for it to happen.

3-4-52276d ago (Edited 2276d ago )

I agree. Tons of un-tapped potential with Destiny. I just started playing Destiny 2 again, and I like it more now than when it first released.

It's a solid game, and the mechanics of just running/moving/shooting are unmatched in the industry in terms of how smooth it plays.

* It gets way too much hate and 50% of that is by people who've never played the game/series.

* Just like there are media sites who don't play games but talk about them.....there are also people who make comments online who don't actually play games, or the games they comment on.

Destiny 3 would be awesome. I just beat the main game the other day so I have a bunch of DLC to get through.

Also re-installed Borderlands 2:Handsome Jack collection for XB1 as I never beat that game or the DLC or even played the pre-sequel.

Lots of content to get through before BL3 and Destiny 3......and Anthem, which I do want to play, but not until there is more content & a price drop.

I don't understand the hate for these games. Some of you need to appreciate the fact we even have them in the first place.

What too much whiny entitlement in the industry on the user end.

*** Also, Planetside influence is great news. That game is a ton of fun. It's basically like how in WoW you can fight the other side....except it's on going in certain areas or everywhere.

I LOVE that idea as some great battles were had in Planetside

Knushwood Butt2275d ago

If 50% of people that played it, hate it, there's a problem.

I disagree completely. I enjoy Destiny because dispite it’s flaws it’s a solid game with excellent gameplay.

Sono4212276d ago (Edited 2276d ago )

They have lost faith with so many, including many of their initial Destiny 1 fanbase. The only way this could be amended is if they completely reworked the series with a slight rebranding. A slight title alteration, something like Destiny: Expansion Factory. Lol I kid.. no really something like Destiny: Reborn or Destiny: Please forgive us. okay lol that's the end of the jokes, but I am entirely serious about the premise.

Simply release a complete package at launch for once and take away all of the silly mechanics that intentionally spread out a sparse amount of content. I mean, I don't think it will happen, ever, not so long as people like you are still around, they have only a small portion left of the initial Destiny fanbase, but these people buy every overpriced expansion, in the end they end up earning 3 to 4 times the amount of money just because of the loyal fanbase.

DillyDilly2276d ago

If they went back to their single player roots with a Destiny game I'd play it

Kitt922276d ago

They are working on a new ip they announced years ago

Darkborn2276d ago

There's no way I'm falling for their tactics again. I preordered destiny and destiny 2 and the second time around it was definitely a worse game and launch than the first.

maybelovehate2276d ago

How so? Destiny 2's campaign was way better than Destiny 1. I mean way better. And there was a lot more content at launch than Destiny 1. The issue with D2 wasn't the launch period it was the end game which was strong for a month or so. Granted Destiny 1 by the end was an amazing game, but Destiny 1 at launch was really lacking.

KyRo2276d ago

Destiny 2s campaign seemed better because you didn't have to read through cards on a website to understand. It was still a generic evil monster wants to end humans story.

Destiny 1 had a great content by the end of the games lifespan but to then release D2 as bare bones as it did after people had so much to do in the first game was a massive mistake. It make the game feel hollow and the that first raid was so so so bad in comparison to the vault of glass.

maybelovehate2276d ago

No, it was just a better campaign. Better mission structure, better story, better everything. I think people forget how bad Destiny 1 campaign was.

Sevir2276d ago

Destiny 1's campaign was trash, you didn't need through lore cards to understand anything about the campaign because the campaign was hoveled together after they rebooted the game months before it's intended 2013 launch. The lore cards were flavor texts that set up the universe and world of Destiny.

By Rise of Iron D1 was fantastic.

D2 at launch was stronger, than D1 at launch. The issue was the End Game and lack of secrets to chase thanks to Activision's push for casual entry players. And some poor throttling decisions found by players in COO expansion... Everything that follows from that point on has improved the game. Forsaken, is amazing more so than the Taken King and Rise of Iron. Plenty of pursuits to chase. And the Annual Pass has more or less been steady in content offerings which have elevated the game beyond the horrible droughts we experienced in Year 2 and year 3 of Destiny following Taken King and Rise of Iron releases.

It's fair to say that Destiny as an IP has had it's ups and downs but the in it's current form is head and shoulders worth it's offering now than it's ever been. So
Forgive me if I call bullshit on your claim that D2 sucks. It may not be for you, but just say that and move on.

I'm looking forward to seeing where they take the many story plots they've been following. They've improved as Story tellers and they've nailed they're game play mechanics, and they're loop of hooking the player is the best it's ever been.

I'd like to see them put some focus on improving the PVP and bringing back Pinnacle PVP activity Trails that was as good as D1. As competitive really just doesn't feel like it did in D1

RacerX2276d ago

I had fun with destiny 2 for about 3 weeks. The raid was just boring compared to TTK and Vault of Glass. They had the magic formula, but Calus just felt like lazy development to me.

So 3 weeks of entertainment for $60? That's not horrible, but it IS BAD when Bungie says it's like a 3 YEAR game, and don't give any good reason to go back.

MadLad2275d ago (Edited 2275d ago )

Never played the original Destiny, but 2 couldn't even push me to finish the campaign.

DaDrunkenJester2276d ago

Destiny 2's campaign was better but they totally messed up the loot and end game, and the raid was not as fun as VoG. Apparently they have fixed it and it's much better, but they did that with the first one as well... I think they do that on purpose. Make the initial release not quite as good so they can "fix" it in the expansion and keep people hooked or buy back in again.

PapaBop2276d ago

I loved the raid mechanics but VoG certainly felt more intense.

Darkborn2276d ago

The main reason I say the second game was worse was because the endgame didn't hook me whatsoever. My team beat the raid without any info or youtube only a few hours in. The weapon slots were jacked up how they designed it and the crucible was 4v4. They literally chased the casual crowd instead of the already tried and true player base. I literally quit the night we beat the raid, which was launch night of the first raid. I came back for forsaken, but I didn't like how I had to grind past all the crappy dlcs and forsaken was only alright once I got there. Basically I quit about a week after forsaken. I played literally thousands of hours in D1, bungie just ruined the second game.

Rodney252276d ago

You had that coming if you didn't learn your lesson from destiny 1 and for some odd reason pre-ordered the second one.

seanpitt232276d ago

Tried destiny 2 on ps plus for free it was ok nothing special but bungie do need to come away from this IP now and do something else they are a talented developer

Patricko2276d ago

Annual Pass 3? Yeah, good luck with that...

Sono4212276d ago

I hate to say it.. but they will definitely sell well enough to make them a profit, but that's simply because of how little effort/content you are paying for.

Notellin2276d ago (Edited 2276d ago )

This annual pass was probably the least amount of content I've ever received from any DLC/expansion I've ever purchased.

I can't remember the last time I felt like I got fleeced this hard in a while from gaming or anything else.

Destiny already has the pretty hyper 'raid' fixation and then they added legendary raid dungeons. Hyperfixating in PvEvP wouldn't work as well because you need a lot more than 2% of the userbase to keep that going unlike raids that are propped up by streamers who make running them their whole job. Most players don't play all the raids let alone run them over and over. And most who play PvP don't want structured PvE elements.
