Technical difficulties severely hamper what is a solid foundation, making Spike Volleyball play more like the season outtakes than a real-world simulation.

Even if you’re a volleyball fan, to which, admittedly, I am not, you likely still won’t be able to get to grips with this “game”."
Neil writes: "Spike Volleyball couldn’t ever be thought of as a way of getting more players involved in the real-world game, with a decent mechanical idea overshadowed by numerous issues and an absolutely crazy purchase price."
Ben writes: "Despite their being a massive appetite for sports games in the console market, the money from developers all seems to be concentrated at the very top end of the genre. Football, Basketball, NFL and Ice Hockey all have big budget titles that shift millions of units, but there the investment drops off."
