Nintendo has been around since 1889. They are like Highlander at this point...haha. They will find a way to survive.

Zodiac2285d ago

If anything , Nintendo will be the least affected by Stadia.

EddieNX 2285d ago (Edited 2285d ago )

Definitely

People buy Nintendo for Nintendo games.

People buy PS and XB for third party games. PS4s highest selling exclusive is 10m on an installed base of 95M.

That means like 85% of PS4 owners are playing third party gamers and if Stadia has all the same third party games, well...

Nintendo is more self sufficient than PS or XB , by far.

"PS4s highest selling exclusive is 10m on an installed base of 95M."
No hardcore exclusive is going to sell to 100% of the install base, The majority of Sony's exclusive are AAA hardcore games.
Here are the top selling hardcore games on the Wii, a console with 100 million install base:
Super Smash Bros. Brawl: 13.29 mill
Super Mario Galaxy: 12.78
Super Mario Galaxy 2: 7.41 mill
The Legend if Zelda Twilight princess: 7.26 mill
This argument that selling 10 million on a console with close to 100 million is some how bad is retarded. Not every game is going to appeal to the entire install base.

EddieNX 2284d ago (Edited 2284d ago )

There's a couple of Switch games at 15M sold on an installed base of 30M.

My point stands. Mario Kart Wii sold nearly 40m and NSMB similar on Wii.

The stadia is more of a threat to Sony and Microsoft than it is to Nintendo, if you disagree then you are "retarded"

XabiDaChosenOne2284d ago

"There's a couple of Switch games at 15M sold on an installed base of 30M."
Nice job lying their "retard", there is only one switch game that is at 15 million and that's Mario kart 8 deluxe, a game that appeals the casual audience.

MarioKart Wii and NSMB are games that appeal to the casual audience, therefore not hardcore titles. Mainline Zelda on the Wii "only" sold 7 million, Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the Wii "only" sold 7 million. Your argument is retarded, hardcore games selling 10 million or more is an excellent feat regardless of install base.

Stadia will fail regardless because it sucks but just to play devils advocate; Nintendo exclusives didn't save the WiiU, The Gamecube, or the N64 so if Stadia were to "revolutionize" the way we play games what makes you think Nintendo would survive with its network infrastructure?

SuperSonic912285d ago (Edited 2285d ago )

They will bring Mario Run, Pokemon Go and Mario Kart to Stadia like they did to Android and iOS?

Traecy2285d ago

It means nothing. Nintendo will continue to do it's thing.

Segata2285d ago

It means the Switch will keep selling like crazy and nothing will be affected.

eagle212285d ago

I wouldn't be surprised if Switch has it's best sales year yet during Stadia's year one...lol.

"Players can now hide system apps, pin favorites to the list, and reduce the number of tiles displayed. This update is part of our ongoing effort to make Home more personal, flexible, and responsive to feedback."

This is welcomed, i like a less cluttered home screen.

Not sure what games you're playing to average 5 to 6 hours battery. Mariokart World and Zelda gets 2 and a half hours max.

gold_drake14h ago

not sure if its a successor or an upgrade.

and theres no way u get 5 hours.

1nsomniac9h ago(Edited 8h ago)

Yea don’t think id get 6 hours in sleep mode!

I think there’s a lot of internal software issues with the battery management.

Sleep mode kills the battery almost as quick as playing games does. Playing switch 1 games seems to kill the battery faster than playing switch 2 games for the most part. Even playing a very, very basic switch 1 game seems to drain the battery much faster than I would expect it to.
