Ryse 2 with real time Ray tracing
Imagine how Marius armor will look.

xX-oldboy-Xx2289d ago

ms doesn't support games that don't sell 4m+, you're out of luck buddy.

Darkborn2289d ago (Edited 2289d ago )

Basically makes sense, they only support forza, gears and halo.

Prubar2289d ago

Lol losers back on the hate train.

xX-oldboy-Xx2289d ago

Prubar - you must be new, this is common knowledge - you can't be that fun surely?

xX-oldboy-Xx2289d ago

Fun = Dim - auto-correct fail.

PrinceOfAnger2288d ago

How many copies did Knack 1 and knack 2 Sell?..

xX-oldboy-Xx2288d ago

TRU3_GAM3R - I think it did alright, they bundled Knack 2 in Japan. But once again you dim wits ahevmissed the point.

We're talking about ms, not a failed Sony 'New' ip.

TK-662288d ago

So then why is there a Halo Wars 2 and a State of Decay 2? Those games predecessors certainly didnt sell 4mil so why did they get supported?

Tech52288d ago (Edited 2288d ago )

duplicate post

Razzer2288d ago

“How many copies did Knack 1 and knack 2 Sell?..”

And yet Sony still made a Knack 2

Zeref2288d ago

They were trying to buy the License from Crytek but Crytek refused to sell it to them.

Ryse was excellent. Enjoyed the game and its story. It's unlikely, but I wish they'd make a sequel.

Tech52288d ago

" enabling ray tracing to run on most mainstream, contemporary AMD and NVIDIA GPUs. "

interesting news yet so far. it may yet be possible to see the feature run on a wider range of GPUs through a form of emulation.

Eidolon2288d ago

It looks nice. But is it only me that is not seeing the benefits of Ray Tracing yet, at least not when considering the amount of processing it requires? Aren't there other areas where the processing could be used, besides resolution?

xenz2288d ago

Ray tracing actually makes a big difference. You should watch this clip;

https://youtu.be/Ltcfj9ff0e...

KyRo2288d ago

Zens, it's such a minor difference for the power it uses to produce those lighting effects. Its cool but it's a tech that just isn't ready in 2019 if you don't want pretty big downgrade in performance.

1nsomniac2288d ago

@Xenz while I agree ray tracing does make a difference. The video you posted is fake and has nothing to do with ray tracing.

Rude-ro2288d ago

In the big puctite, as in advancing the technology, it will make games more immersive.
Jackfrags did a great video on ray tracing in bf5 showing off the technology and the little perks that can come to players.
Like using a reflection to see around a corner in pvp.
As of now, I think you are right and, as it should be, the technology just adds another quality level for pc enthusiasts.
This will get refined and eventually be added to consoles.
As for single player games.. just imagine a game like Detroit become human with already its amazing graphics using ray tracing.
It really does just bring a game to life and can even be used to add a depth of gameplay. An example would be in a game that uses puzzles like tomb raider, uncharted, resident evil etc where you use a reflection to solve a puzzle etc.

But like all new technology, start somewhere and let it evolve.

starchild2288d ago

Metro Exodus with ray traced global illumination is the best looking lighting I have ever seen in a game. To the point where when I play some other games known for having great graphics I notice how messed up and unrealistic their lighting is. It makes a huge difference.

ApocalypseShadow2289d ago

Looks good in video. But all these ray tracing videos need to show something. Like Crytek for example; show something like Crysis upgraded to detailed ray tracing with gun fire, explosions, characters on screen, foliage, smoke, etc to see it in action. Not some video of nothing happening.

Even if it's a tech demo and not an upcoming game, show something that gamers would see in actual real time.

sinspirit2289d ago

They should go back to beautiful environments like Crysis 1 and Warhead. I liked the sandbox feel of it a lot more

ApocalypseShadow2289d ago

Yeah. That foliage and water was crazy.

porkChop2289d ago

Yeah, it would be more useful to see these effects in some type of real world scenario.

NarooN2289d ago (Edited 2289d ago )

Well I mean even this demo shows you what would happen in real time, because it was recorded in real-time on current day hardware. A gun fight would be cool but this demo was slow-paced so you could actually see the voxel-based raytraced reflections and global illumination, which players would be able to see just fine in actual gameplay. These things greatly increase immersion, at least to me. Imagine a Deus Ex game with these visuals.

sinspirit2289d ago

I think that Rainbow Six Siege could benefit from reflections of this quality. I'd love to be able to look at glass picture frames and mirrors to get extra awareness for someones movement.

isarai2289d ago

Still wanna see Mirrors Edge with real time ray tracing, especially in the regions with all the surrounding buildings with mirror finished windows

porkChop2289d ago

I just want more Mirror's Edge, period.

nyu12288d ago

They already have a GI solution in there too, so with reflections it would look amazing.

Truly amazing!

Draws inspiration clearly draws gameplay inspiration from Assassins Creed and action cinematics from Uncharted!

Powered by UE5!

Definitely on my radar!

raWfodog5h ago

Eastern devs are putting in that work this gen. The quality of their games have been top-notch across the board. Looking forward to seeing more of this game in action.

Other devs need to take notes and step their game up, figuratively and literally.

Lightning7714h ago

Looks very good why wasn't this at SGF?

Obscure_Observer12h ago

Probably because this trailer wasn´t ready yet.

I doubt the developers would miss the opportunity to reveal their games to millions of gamers on four major events like Summer Game Fest, Future Games Show, State of Play or Xbox Showcase on purpose.

Napoca867h ago(Edited 7h ago)

This feels like 90% stolen from Uncharted and the guy is also falling or almost falling to often down. Nah this is to much show, something is strange here.

Sonyslave36h ago

It does look like it could be staged or the combat might be like hellblade, but i have hope the devs made naraka battle royal game.

Lightning772h ago

Ryse had staged area like combat. So did Hell Blade. Linear story based games do this. It's very cinematic like gameplay. The game did remind me of Ryse, how Ryse would of looked if they had a sequel of sorts.

pwnmaster30004h ago

This reminds me a bit of uncharted, ghost, Gow and AC.

Count me in.

The director of the original Silent Hill: “I look forward to seeing bold interpretations.”

Keiichiro Toyama—the creator and original director of the 1999 Silent Hill—shared his personal thoughts on the recently announced remake by Konami, reflecting on what the project means to him after more than two decades:
“I felt something similar when the game was adapted into a movie. It deeply moved me to see the names of the characters and locations I had created come to life visually, even though I wasn’t directly involved. That wouldn’t have been possible without the continued support of the fans and the dedication of the developers who’ve kept the series alive.
I’m really looking forward to seeing how the remake evolves this time. With the advanced technology we now have, I’m sure I’ll be surprised by how the game is reimagined. Since the original was built for the first PlayStation, there will naturally be challenges—like the camera and controls—but I’m eager to see bold and creative solutions to those elements.”

Haha Not only is bold and creatively not what the industry wants, it’s not what most people want.

They want to get scammed and pay twice for a thing they already own.

Nightcrawler8913h ago

Hope they use his vision in the game

Inverno13h ago

Was the SH2 remake even bold? Or was it more or less just a 1 to 1 over the shoulder remake?

Pedrof12h ago

I wouldn't hold my breath on "bold".
