i downloaded both version and it seemed the ps3 looks slightly better. but 360 version still looks amazing :)

darkequitus6083d ago

Are you going to leave your statement at that or are you going to qualify it in some way?

darkequitus: PSN/XBL

Why o why6083d ago

maybe u can. You've got both. It would be hard to quantify it without sounding fanboyish TO SOME. You seem fair in your comments so ill wait for your feedback

Montrealien6083d ago (Edited 6083d ago )

I have not tried the 360 version yet, but I really , I mean REALLY enjoyed this game when I tried it on my PS3 this morning, day one buy for me, DICE really have something here.

even if one or the other have slight advantages when it comes to lighting, textures, or anything else in the graphics department, it won`t be enough to hinder what a great experience this game is shaping up to be. PS3 and 360 owners have a great game in Mirrors edge.

SullyDrake6083d ago

Better visuals and smoother gameplay.

BlackRaven856083d ago

I downloaded it for my PS3, and really enjoyed it. I already made up my mind on which to buy since I first heard, and seen the trailer. It's going to my PS3.

TrevorPhillips6083d ago

fine there both the same you happy now geese i was just giving my honest opinion

darkequitus6083d ago

that is childish. There is nothing wrong with an opinion. But you know on boards like these the next question asked will be why. Would you be happy if IGN [name any mag or site] or their Ilk said Game version 2 was worse than version 1 and left lef tit at that? Not explaining why. I think not.

@WHy oh Why
I am in the until after th election and will not return to the UK until after that So no PS3 or Xbox for me. All I have here is a lowly laptop and the notion I have several games waiting in the post for me when I get back and not enough time to play them all.. the only plus I will have R2 24 days earlier most of the UK

TrevorPhillips6083d ago

thank you for the agree and im giving u 1 back :), btw what you rekon of the game awesome ay

Why o why6083d ago (Edited 6083d ago )

finished the demo earlier. that quick jump turn jump move really changes things. They teach you it in the demo but it comes in handy especially in the time trial. pleasantly surprised by this title.

pp6083d ago

Xbox360 version slightly looks better than PS3.

Myth0096083d ago

The game was developed on ps3 and shown on ps3 way before the 360 version, so i think you need to look at it again, and i highly doubt u own a ps3 loser,,,

RAF-TECH6083d ago

i can lend you a tissue if you want...

Montrealien6083d ago (Edited 6083d ago )

lol
*pp post one phrase*

hilarity ensues. I try my hands at a stupid PS3 comment below, watch the support and agrees I get! or the hate for that mater.

/on topic

Play the game on the console you have, it`s a great game.

AbdullaMTR6083d ago

no body give a $h!t about what he saying.

just ignore him

ultimolu6083d ago (Edited 6083d ago )

...No.
I highly doubt you have a 360 or a PS3 for that matter pp. I think you just attack the PS3 for kicks. -__-

Varsarus6083d ago

What a clown, the Mirror's Edge engine ran way better on PS3, so stick that up your pipe.

rob60216083d ago (Edited 6082d ago )

I switched between them on various spots, they're nearly identical - Except the PS3 version uses more advanced lighting (Zoom in on the sun and you'll see). So you're wrong, the PS3 version looks better. And these are just demos we don't know yet if the PS3 will use higher resolution textures with the blu ray release.

Also worth mentioning is the six-axis controls that add a nice benefit to the tight rope walking which wasn't present on 360.

ThaGeNeCySt6083d ago

control wise... i think it's great but might be better suited for the PS3.. i feel awkward using LB to jump.. I think it'll feel more comfortable if i'm using L1

zypher6083d ago

i usually get more traditional shooters on the 360 because of my preference for its triggers. but Mirror's Edge A) isn't really a shooter, and B) doesn't rely on the triggers nearly as much as it relies on R1 and L1 (or RB and LB on the 360). in this case the 360 Bumpers are way too skinny.

as for the game itself, well, the demo was everything i expected. this is a fresh, fun game; one i would be buying first day if it weren't already for my wallet being broken recently by Fable 2 and Fallout 3, then by Resistance 2 and Gears of War 2 (all in Limited Edition). i may have to wait a few weeks to pick up Mirror's Edge, along with Eternal Sonata, Naruto and PoP.

as for any comparisons; i highly doubt there'll be much difference (if any) between both versions graphics. i know the PS3 was the lead platform, but usually in cases like that both versions tend to be the same. if there is a difference you'll probably have to pull out a magnifying glass to see it.

NegativeCreepWA6083d ago

I was going to download the 360 version, but if relies on the bumpers that much I think ill try it for PS3.

solidsnakus6083d ago

you know its odd how you mention you dislike using RB to jump and yet you dont say anything when your playing racing or FPS games on ps3 cause those R-L triggers BLOW.

EA Cut Dead Space's Marketing Budget to Pour Into Mirror's Edge Due to Mock Review Scores

Former Visceral Games devs reveal Dead Space's marketing budget was cut in favor of Mirror's Edge because of mock review scores.

Knightofelemia182d ago (Edited 182d ago )

I wish EA would just release a DS2 remake. DS is my favorite horror game and DS2 is the best one in the franchise. But because DS1 failed to meet certain numbers EA scrapped the DS2 remake. SH2 remake was great rumors are Konami might be asking for another SH remake. The RE2 remake was great EA just needs to give it another try. But all they seem to do is shitty sports games that are no different from the year before. Change a few players, add different uniform colours, maybe change a team logo. Wash, rinse, repeat.

goken182d ago

Agreed. DS was great. But DS2 was even better. Would love to see a DS2 remake, though I would love to see a DS4 even more.
The problem with EA is they make easy $ from the slight changes to their sports titles like football FC games (whatever it’s called nowadays). People just lap that sh1t up.
Comparatively, games like DS which don’t sell 10s of millions, can’t sell them team player add ons and all the like, would seem a hassle to make and unappealing comparatively. Especially when you consider that most EA non sport titles haven’t actually performed well recently.

Pyrofire95182d ago

Dark Souls 2, Darksiders 2, Dead Space 2, Death Stranding 2, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2

chicken_in_the_corn182d ago

The Dead space remake was so good. Better than the original. Shame they won't remake 2.

__y2jb182d ago

I loved the original dead space but the remake I just found boring. Game design has moved on and the game really showed its age, just small area encounters repeated again and again.

DefenderOfDoom2182d ago

I bought Dead Space during launch window and I never bought a Mirror's Edge game .

Inverno181d ago

Then they went on to screw both games over.

UnbreakableAlex181d ago

I'd rather see a new and great Mirrors Edge than another boring Dead Space.

Bioshock still looks fantastic, one of my all time favorites.

Yui_Suzumiya882d ago

Beyond: Two Souls on PS3 can compete with modern day graphics.

SonyStyled881d ago (Edited 881d ago )

Same as Killzone 2 and 3, uncharted 2 and 3, Infamous 2, Heavy Rain, Resistance 3

jasonismoney881d ago

I wish this was entirely true, but you might want to load up Killzone 2 and Resistance 3 again.

SonyStyled881d ago

@jason I watched some gameplay videos of KZ2 and R3 on my full screen. They are on par or succeed graphically to the first person shooters mentioned in the article that also launched on the seventh generation of consoles. Try the same and see what you think

cthulhucultist881d ago

Killzone 3 was super impressive! I could not believe the graphics back then as I was regularly pausing the game to stand in awe looking at the surroundings! Resistance however did not impress me that much. Heavy rain is also another amazing graphically speaking game. It almost felt next gen

Fist4achin882d ago

I always thought the first 3 Gears of War games looked great and still hold up for today.

SonyStyled881d ago

They did for their day. I recently played gears judgement with on the 360 and the draw distance was so blurry. The characters up close look great though

JEECE881d ago

Far Cry 2 was awesome. In addition to having demonstrably better physics and AI than later games in the series, it had a lot of design decisions that, criticized at the time, have since been praised in games like BOTW and Dark Souls.

iNcRiMiNaTi881d ago

It might not be super amazing by today's standard but I thought Mgs3 looked really good

JEECE881d ago

In terms of art style it still holds up.
