**What still lacks, however, is third-party support and a collection of games that go beyond the Xbox sigil**

Third parties want to sell games. Not give them away to hours played. Why as a business would you want to sell ONE copy you can play anywhere when you can sell a PC version, console multiplatform versions and a mobile version? This is why most aren't for it and will only drop it on a service like this after sales have pretty much dried up. Or better yet, create their own services outside Microsoft. Why give your top games to make them more money? But too many subscriptions would be even worse.

If it's the Netflix for games, why charge for the first month?
https://www.netflix.com
Netflix first month is free. Microsoft still charging even if it's a $2 for 2 months promotion. Let gamers try it for free. Even if it's for 7 days.

**With Microsoft being the leading software company in the gaming industry**

Oh please! Do we really need to point out crackdown, state of decay, sea of thieves, etc? All games that would have failed as software and only survived because of being given away on Game Pass. Only good if you pull out more heart strings PR.

**Microsoft has the resources to bring gaming to devices not particularly designed for it. This is important because the behemoth of PlayStation is very much console-locked and hardware-specific.**

PS Now can be played on PC. Remote Play can be streamed to any compatible device be it phone, tablet, PC, Mac,etc.

**As it stands, the Xbox is the only gaming console prepared for an all-access future of gaming.**

Another lie.

I don't mind modernizing gaming where it makes sense. But I'll take a dedicated console filled with exclusives and game ownership that I can lend to someone or trade in before relinquishing what makes gaming great.

'**As it stands, the Xbox is the only gaming console prepared for an all-access future of gaming.** '

This is why Microsoft fails. Its because we can never take it for what it is, we have to literally brainwash ourselves with stacks of lies.

If Microsoft releases a portable consoles people will be telling us that Xbox was the first to do it.

Nintendo, freaking Nintendo, has streaming on the Switch. Xbox does not. Therefore it cannot be the only console....

**With Microsoft being the leading software company in the gaming industry**

You just gotta eat all the bullshit and relinquish your ability to think.

I don't know if these bloggers truly like Xbox or are just paid shills to get people to change their beliefs so that we as gamers get screwed by the new narrative. They don't even try to back it up with facts. Just spew nonsense.

Next thing they'll do is say game ownership is so archaic. Or some BS like that. Or cameras delivering advertising is the future.

Actually Remote Play is locked to Xperia devices (Phones). Need to change framework, build.prop, hide root, etc to get it working on a non-xperia phone. Can't really see it's available on Android, more like Xperia. Remote Play was on PC via Twisted(unoffically) quite a bit before it was officially released, but can't really say it was available on PC. There's always a work around though for people who are willing.

Isnt remote play is on PC? They remove it at some point within the last year and I not hear?

Eidolon2309d ago

Yes, it's still on PC. I meant when it came to phones, for the average user, it's only for Xperia.

ApocalypseShadow2309d ago (Edited 2309d ago )

There are still work arounds because Sony hasn't updated for Android.

One software update and it's back to being official if Sony so chooses to go in that direction because of competition. If home brew programmers can do it, Sony's programmers could easy bring phones and tablets in beyond their own.

I was doing it on my nexus 7 tablet for awhile but there was no point of playing on my phone in the living room when I could just be playing from the console directly. My eyes were getting strained from staring at a small screen.

Eidolon2309d ago

Remote Play is great for when you want to play a casual game that requires less reaction speed than say, Street Figher or COD. In the house.. can just relax and play laying down, or have a show/video(that doesn't require constant visual focus), in the restroom, or maybe just feel like being in another room, or when someone else is using the TV. When you're out of the house it can bit of a hassle, but on good connections/times it's manageable, but I don't do it often. If I play out of the house, it's Vita games, not PS4. And when it's Remote Play, I would rather use my 5GHZ AC phone for casual games, shit, with a controller, it's workable for faster paced games.

Unfortunately I think so. Not anytime soon. But in a few years time. They want that on everything.

Won't happen, software is where all the money is made. These companies take losses on these consoles and then make up for it with software sales.
