Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition has been confirmed for release in the west exclusively on Nintendo Switch, complete with new features not available in the standard edition.

Content wise yes. Graphics are a bit worse but you get portability as a tradeoff, still looks suprisingly good on Switch as well. I don't have a PS4 so I can't wait for this!

A bit worse? Shadows are missing, foliage is gone, reflections are turned off, absolutely terrible looking water, colors are washed out, textures are not only degraded but completely different compared to PC and PS4.

I have an Xbox one X to play my multiplats and just dont particularly like most of Sonys exclusives. I like the Japanese ones but the western ones really don't do it for me personally. Played Bloodborne on my brother's PS4 and there's still one or 2 others I'd like to play but don't want a PS4 taking up space.

I have the PS4 version already but I will get this version as well. Portable Dragon Quest is great when you can’t be in front of a tv.

@Marioraider18 that is Dragon Quest heroes 2 and I think the Switch version was a port of the Vita version. Probably was a quick port to get something out for Switch’s launch in Japan. You can tell DQ11 on Switch had more time to get it close to the PS4 version as possible.

I loved the game, but had some frame issues even on ps4, I can't imagine how they'll pull this off without a substantial downgrade.

Not everything revolve around graphic. You can play graphic while I play new contents.

You do realise that you posted two videos of Dragon Quest Herors for the Switch which was a port of of the Vita version.

If you're going to complain at know what you're talking about instead of making baseless assumptions. The Switch version of DQXI looks pretty damn good.

Good thing I waited I was hoping they would include the 2d version from 3ds and they did. Not really a big deal about the downgrade in graphics it still looks good and will be great in handheld.

Mario, Even after watching the comparison vid, the Switch version still look good to me.

Funny how that works huh? and we get new content? and I can play it portable? yeah definitely worth it.

and dont be surprised if it sells = or more than the ps4 version in Japan.
