VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Looking back, 2003 was an absolutely stellar year for 3D action-adventure and platform-adventure games. The industry saw the likes of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Beyond Good & Evil, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando. Lost in the shuffle was another strong entry, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. Featuring two unique playable characters, a compelling story based on Egyptian mythology, clever quest and level design, and some inviting remastered graphics, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy, now on Switch, is an ideal way to celebrate and relive the golden age of AA gaming."
The remastered version of Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is now available for PlayStation 4 via PlayStation Store for $14.99 / £11.99 / €14.99, publisher THQ Nordic announced. An Xbox One version will follow on April 15.
Goddamn. Croc in the beginning of April and now Sphinx in the middle? Let's have Tak and the Power of Juju cap off the month for us.
Didn't realize this wasn't on other platforms. It dropped on the Switch about 4 years ago.
Phil at SPC writes, "Welcome to the return of One & Done, an article series on SPC that talks about games that never became franchises. They were literally one and done! Now, the purpose of these articles isn't to beg for sequels, as some of these games don't need them and not every game needs to become a franchise. Instead, we're just exploring and fondly remembering these terrific titles from generations' past and giving them some more time in the old spotlight."
I also remember Cold Fear. Never wound up buying it but I watched some of the walkthrough years later.
Gun could’ve gone on, but RDR was a tough act to follow.
Early years of the following gen had quite a few one-shots. Heavenly Sword, Lair, Haze, Folklore, Stranglehold. Bah gawd Stranglehold had expensive DLC for its day.
Xbox Wire writes - "Get ready for a Spooktacular October Games with Gold lineup! On Xbox One, play as an adorable villain in the throwback horror puzzle game Slayaway Camp: Butcher’s Cut, and keep your wits about you in the creepy stealth title Maid of Sker. On the Xbox 360, and Xbox One via Backward Compatibility, warp through ancient Egypt in Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy and get your trick-or-treating fix in Costume Quest."
Probably the worst Game with Gold ever, clearly trying to stop the project, they want people to pay $15 a month for Game Pass Ultimate instead of $5 for Gold. I'd rather own my games than rent them.
Not a chance there is $72 worth of content there too, $35 would be pushing it.
Is it weird that no one is talking about how Xbox discontinued 12 month games with gold subs? You can only get 1 month and 3 months on the Xbox web site. So you're options are 120 or 100 a year. I guess you can still find 12 month physical cards...which is a sneaky way of masking a price hike. Well played Microsoft.
