Resident Evil 2 PS4 Pro vs Xbox One X: Which Version Should You Buy?

It's obvious if you want to play the version at its best then the One X version wins. That being said, play it on the hardware you currently own. The versions are close enough anyways.

Lol why are you protesting? They said IF you Xbox One X then play it on the platform that it plays best on. If you only have the weaker console then play it on that.
Only a simpleton would play an inferior version of a game IF he can help it unless it's for reasons like preferable controller or where friends play. "Because it grew up on Playstation" is about the dumbest thing I've ever heard for choosing an inferior product.

Technically it grew up on several platforms and continued to improve with each platform as they came out.

RE1 was on PS1, Saturn, PC, DS, Gamecube
RE2 was on PS1, Dreamcast, PC, Gamecube
RE3 was on PS1, Dreamcast, PC, Gamecube
RE:CV was on PS2, Dreamcast, PC, Gamecube
RE4 was on PS2, Gamecube, PC, PS3, 360, PS4, XBO.

RE4 had a fantastic version on the Wii with the motion controls for aiming. Not to mention that RE4 started on a Nintendo console.

@Knightmare, I can see how you could think that. But I'll be honest, I don't put any of those games as being synonymous with PlayStation. I played tomb raider on Saturn, where it started. Same with res evil 1. Final Fantasy I played on NES and SNES and didn't play them on PS until FFX on PS2. I have since gone back and gotten 7-9 but I don't consider the series synonymous with PlayStation because it is on so many others now.

It's just me though so I play things differently than others. You can view them how you like but it doesn't make it right.

They differences are small, they took their time and put effort for all the versions to look good, sure if you want to stop the screen and check every pixel sure you will find a difference here and there.

if only the Xb1X was worth buying aside from a multiplatform game. Pretty pointless this late in the generation. PS has almost 3 times the install base, so unless you have random money laying around, or you enjoy missing out on this generation's best games, then you will have only an xbox 1 x.

A real game has a ps4 pro and a switch and maybe a pc, rendering xbox pointless.

This is still a question? Seems like the new default is one x is the place to play games. By and large, like everything there maybe a few out liars.

And if rumours/ leaks are legitimate it seems that will be the default going forward. MS seems committed to having the most powerful hardware on the market. And the “best place” to play. With great value in the hardware like backward compatibility for all generations. Best networks for multiplayer/ download speeds etc. Best graphics best services like game pass. Best features like 4K uhd blu Ray play back. Dolby vision hdr. Dolby Atmos etc. The only area they are lacking is in first party games but they’re making in vestments there. I’d love to see a nina theory sequel to enslaved. But those guys are creative they probably have something else planned. But great track record with enslaved heavenly sword hellblade.

I’m not saying it will happen. Only time will tell but *if* ms pulls of what they are planning they will be the new Sony and Sony the old Nintendo. Where Nintendo dominated and Sony took over with better hardware and features. Then added their own amazing first party and relegated Nintendo systems to a purchase people bought to play Nintendo games.

Now, ms is one upping Sony with better hardware and features and working on their first party. Unless sony competes on the hardware/services/features front (which is a big task) going forward PlayStation may be relegated to a system you purchase to play Sony exclusives and everything else on Xbox.

I have both and while I would like to get it on Xb1X due to it looking best. I also want to platinum this game as that's what I do with my favorites. So this time I will get it on the Pro. Just finished Re7 and Re: Code Veronica X. Gonna continue with RE Remake and right into 2.
