Generations over Mania? Please… Generations doesnt have any new ideas in the levels/bosses.
Also a top 7 of Sonic games shouldn’t have any 3D crap and contain at least one of the 8-bit titles.
Sonic CD getting snubbed is weird. Number 1 is definitely interchangable between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
Nothing wrong with putting Generations over Mania. Generations had a lot more to it. Mania was just a bit too short, despite how amazing it was. They're both top-tier Sonic games though.
I don't think mania was to short given 1,2,3, knuckles were between 1 and 3 hours long.
Mania was 5 hours roughly

Nope. Sonic 1 & 2 on the master system were great. Dont confuse these with the game gear versions either.

Sometimes I feel like the Sonic Advanced games just didn’t exist with how much it’s always forgotten 😭
Even as a Sonic fan, I didn't really care for those games, and getting the Chaos Emeralds were freakin' horrible. Even with an emulator and save states, I didn't have the desire to try. I also didn't like most of the levels or bosses either. Unfortunately, DiMPs aren't good at making Sonic games.

If I have to read another one of these lists that contains the sentence "The game that started it all" I'm gonna go nuts.
And when it comes to fan favourite zones in Sonic 3 (he mentioned Hydro City, Marble Garden and Launch Base), I'd replace Launch base and Marble Garden with Ice Cap zone. Never heard anyone refer to the others as favourites.
I sorta' stopped caring about this list when I saw Sonic Spinball (a genuinely great game) ranked lower than some of the noted atrocities.
Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed is still my favorite kart racer.
I've never really been able to play online tho. D:
Can't even play Team Sonic Racing online cause the servers are broken and don't queue people together.
P.S. This is such a random list. I really don't agree with it. Maybe this really is how they rank it but them just seems odd personally.
For over thirty years, Sonic the Hedgehog has provided memorable video game music and brought many artists from around the world together.
I recently played this game again, and it's still great fun to play, Big's levels are still awful though. It's not the Froggy catching part that is so bad, it's the harder levels that come later. Catching those big fish is so boring and frustrating.
Take out the Big the Cat story, and this game is a 10/10 for it's time from me.
This game is/was a solid 9 out of 10 for sure!

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for Gamecube is the best Sonic game to date. Just saying.
Rose-tinted-glasses or not, it's a fun game. Definitely jankey, but still fun. I'd say it sits within a tangible goldilocks zone that may be different depending on the person.
One where on a personal level, I was still a young kid (7/8yrs) & loved Sonic through the Megadrive era. But also where gaming technology was rapidly advancing. The Dreamcast, the graphics, the music, the oncoming Millenium. It's the memories of playing it at that point in time that make me look back so fondly on it.
And the soundtrack is still superb.
