Fallout 76 might be bad, but what's worse is what it says about the state of single-player gaming in the future.
Fallout 76 launched in a very underwhelming state. However, over the years it has added content and adjusted its balance to win over fans.
Redemption? lol
It’s better sure but it’s still not a good Fallout game
We need to stop doing these underdog / redemption storylines years later, of course the game is going to be better compared to launch when the launch was shit. An improvement after updates is an automatically given.
Though Starfield is available, many Xbox and PS5 players are still enjoying Fallout 76, as the highly maligned RPG sets a new record.
I recently bought it for £2 brand new. It's not awful. Still a poor fallout game though.
Don't just put this on xbox and ps players as if this doesn't exist omind it it wasn't as good as the other fallout but I ain't paying for storage n pc.
I played it for about 15 hours then realized I was running out of room. They wanted me to pay for storage. Nah. I didn't
Fallout 76: Atlantic City has opened two expeditions for fans to test out before the entire area opens in March, and they're a solid addition to the base game.
It shows that single player gamers have a point, that these kind of games offer the illusion of replay value because it's marketed as a huge multiplayer online game when really the only replay value comes from playing with friends, doing the same type of quests over and over. I could play 3 hours of Fallout 4 and still be wandering around getting a feel of the world, doing some side quests, interacting with the variety of diverse NPC's, stumble across my first random encounter basically scratching the surface of the game while someone playing 3 hours of Fallout 76 would have most likely done most of things the game has to offer.
It also shows that despite having help from another studio the main Bethesda team can't do an online game, whether it's something like 76 or even if it had something easier like standard co-op. It wouldn't work, it would spoil the single player goodness they pour into their games normally and it would be stupid to ask when they can't even do a single player game without a 100 bugs. People just need to accept some studios are the way they are, and I mean that in terms of being a single player driven studio...not that you need to accept how buggy, arrogant, big headed and incompetent they are, God no, speak out as much as you can.
There are still many studios doing single player games (Obsidian's The Outer Worlds and CD Projekt's Cyberpunk 2077 look great). If Bethesda continue this path, then they won't get my money in the future.
You should be fine if you stick with playstation or nintendo.
Just do both single player and online long as both make money for the company why not
