SpongeBob SquarePants Featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom, is not as much a part of the SpongeBob series as it is an unofficial sequel to last year's Nicktoons game, Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots. However, as many of you are likely aware, that game failed by containing levels that were boring and frustrating, preventing the player from experiencing the fun Nicktoons characters are supposed to be about. Luckily, those mistakes are redeemed in Globs of Doom, creating a decent button-masher for kids that will remind older gamers of the arcade button-mashers GameZone used to play when they were young.

VGGEN writes: "Since the past few SpongeBob branded games I have experienced have been decent little platformers, I expected much more from the most recent title, SpongeBob SquarePants featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom. However, what I got was much worse. Rather than an enjoyable, fast-paced adventure, I was subjected to, quite possibly, one of the worst Nickelodeon tie-in games I've ever seen."

You'll spend perhaps 10 percent of game time as SpongeBob, but the rest of the title features a mishmash of characters from Nickelodeon shows. Danny Phantom, Invader Zim, Jimmy Neutron, SpongeBob, Tak and other characters are brought together in Globs of Doom to save the day. The result is a mediocre platformer that feels like it's on the wrong game system and is trying to cash in on two things: the popularity of SpongeBob and the large customer base of DS users."

Whether you're 5 or 50, we all know who that little yellow square thing is and like marmite, you either love him, or hate him. I think SpongeBob Squarepants featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom for Nintendo DS is the same. If you like Nickelodeon characters, traditional platform games and are under the age of 11, you'll probably enjoy this game, with everyone else it will be a little hit and miss"
