From Gematsu: "GRID Autosport is coming to Switch via the Nintendo eShop in 2019, publisher Codemasters announced.
The racing simulator first launched for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in June 2014, followed by Mac and Linux in December 2015, and iOS in November 2017. The Switch version is being handled by Feral Interactive, the studio that ported the game to iOS."
Nintendo is investigating Switch 2 backwards compatibility issues for several racing games, including GRID Autosport, TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3 and WRC 9.
Not entirely true.
I had this issue with Grid Autosport, it crashed about 5 times in a row at one of the beginning logos. I finally tried another game, then tried Grid again... and it worked!
So it's not working well, but it eventually does work. I did a handful of races no problem once I got the game going. So yea, hoping for a patch soon bc it is a pretty good racer to have handheld!
There are hundreds of beautiful mobile games to sift through. Here is Hardcore Droid's list of the 10 Android games with the best graphics.
A number of new deals are up and running on the North American Switch eShop. These include Alien: Isolation, Aragami, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Donut County, Everspace, Fate/Extella games, Fuser, Gone Home, GRID Autosport, Horace, Summer in Mara, and more.
It's going to be a bit wonky at first due to the triggers, but add in a throttle/brake control stick option like older games would allow, and it'll be a decent replacement. Hopefully this means that future Codemasters titles in the DiRT and GRID series come to Switch. Portable DiRT Rally would be fantastic.
From what I played of Grid Autosport, it was a pretty solid game. I love arcadey racers but it didn't suit the GRID franchise (Grid 2).
Gearclub unlimited 2 being developed exclusively for Switch and this have me Intrigued as I love racing Sims, but more than happy with Forza.
If this game has online multiplayer then it's a day one buy!
