congrats to Nintendo. That's a lot of moola.

JaguarEvolved1980d ago (Edited 1980d ago )

This is very good for Nintendo but bad for gamers and people who purchased the Nintendo switch because they barely released games. Eleven months without games

https://farm1.staticflickr....

Nitrowolf21980d ago (Edited 1980d ago )

There’s been tons released, try harder

Maybe not Nintendo directly, but still a good amount of exclusives

JaguarEvolved1980d ago (Edited 1980d ago )

Name the tons of exclusive games that were released please? Im a gamer with all the gaming systems and two Nintendo switches so id like to know of these games please, I 'll be waiting for the list

"Neonridr
stop posting that photo, it's not even yours. We've been over this before."

How many times will I embarrass you mate? I'll update my setup again. I understand you can only afford a children's toy but some people can afford more than that

Neonridr1980d ago (Edited 1980d ago )

stop posting that photo, it's not even yours. We've been over this before.

but kudos for you being that guy in this article. why even bother to comment?

King_Noctis1980d ago (Edited 1980d ago )

So far this year on exclusive side we have Hyrule Warriors, Kirby, Bayonetta 1&2, Donkey Kong TF, Octopath Traveller, Mario Tennis, Mario Party, Pokemon Lets Go, and Smash.

What is your response to that? Oh and before you scream “but but but some are portz!!!11”, answer honestly, how many of those games have you played? Do you even own a WiiU before?

Harkins17211980d ago

Bro every console has a slow start

JaguarEvolved1980d ago (Edited 1980d ago )

https://farm5.staticflickr....

Just because of all the salt

So the big list of Nintendo compelling games for this year consists of like 80 percent ports from other consoles and a couple mediocre to badly rated games? So if youre a hardcore gamer that normally buys all the console and a lot of the exclusive games then youd most likely have played over 80 percent of Nintendo game offering this year already and could only expect to choose less than a handful of games to play on switch. The biggest game for switch this year will be smash.

DrStronk1980d ago

Super Mario Party
Pokemon Lets Go
Octopath Traveler
Kirby Star Allies
Mario Tennis Aces
The Messenger
Torna The Golden Country
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freze
Hyrule Warriors
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker

Those are the Switch Exclusive games released so far in 2018, at least that I can think of at the top of my head. Of course, you can remove the bottom three if you owned a Wii U (Like most others I never owned one myself, so these were new and unique games to me).

doggo841980d ago (Edited 1980d ago )

As a Switch Owner myself, and it being my first Nintendo Console, I can say that it's been a very poor year on the software side of things. Perhaps it's only my taste, (and I've already played all the third party games ported over) but the only worthwhile game coming out for the Switch this year is Smash brothers. Octopath Travellers deserves a special mention too (not my type of game as well).. but other than that, it's been a bland year for the switch. I was incredibly disappointed by Mario Tennis, was hoping it would be on the same level of awesome as Odyssey, but it wasn't.

I expect 2019 to be stronger than 2017 for the switch though.

Doge1980d ago (Edited 1980d ago )

Pfbfbft. Not even a PC-Engine in that collection? That’s lame.

JaguarEvolved1980d ago (Edited 1980d ago )

You better watch out for fanboys hating your honest opinion because you're not celebrating Nintendo every move. We all know Nintendo has a lot of gaming droughts where they don't release games for months upon months which has been going on since I've been a Nintendo gamer. Nintendo fan addicts don't want better but the same games over and over

https://farm5.staticflickr....

Neonridr1979d ago

don't listen to this guy.. he tried using those photos on me over a year ago. The guy doesn't own two switches, doesn't even own one.

He literally spouts nothing but Sony gospel on this site, look at his comment history, he has nothing bad to say about Sony and nothing good to say about any other company. I think he drinks the kool-aid.

JaguarEvolved1979d ago (Edited 1979d ago )

Neonrider

Do you like the new photo of my gaming setup and how shiny my 5k quid pc is? It sucks you can only afford a switch to play a handful of games. All that salt isn't good for your health mate

https://farm5.staticflickr....

Imalwaysright1979d ago

Bad for gamers? Why? Did someone point a gun at the people that bought one?

"Eleven months without games" Oh my... the buthurt that Nintendo is causing you must be extremely painful. So painful that you come to a website like n4g, where everyone is well informed about the gaming industry, and say something that everyone knows is a lie.

@ Neonridr

Let's see if he/she/it will post a picture with his/her/its username.

Neonridr1979d ago

nah, Jaguar will just post a poorly photoshopped picture. Nothing new here.

@JaguarEvolved - you've used the same photo before.. in this article already. Nothing has been updated. Again, I have a PS4 Pro, Vita, 3DS, Wii U, 360, SNES, PSVR, Gaming PC, Oculus Rift, Switch, NES Classic, SNES Classic, Analogue Super NT all connected to my LG OLED 4K TV. You don't own anything Nintendo based, stop lying. So talk to me about not spending $$$ on my hobby.

Segata1979d ago

Funny how my Switch library grew from 5 games in November 2017 to 36 retail games in a year with no games.

Sirk7x1979d ago (Edited 1979d ago )

I've been playing my Switch all year lol. And other consoles. Then again, I do love indies.

JaguarEvolved1979d ago (Edited 1979d ago )

https://farm5.staticflickr....

These Nintendo fanboys are the worse lying about their gaming setup while being an extremist about a children's toy. Which objective gamer who games on other consoles wouldn't realize how abysmal the support is for the switch. Comparing the switch to another console like the ps4 that gets amazing exclusive games a lot and third party games constantly you'd realize that the switches support is horrible by Nintendo. These Nintendo fanboys buy majority ports or basically the same games over and over. You ask for a list of games these fanboys are playing and they spout off a list of 90 percent old games. The biggest game Nintendo fanboys are looking forward to this year is basically a glorified port by the looks of the game with some new fighting characters. These guys want the same games over and over. I can't wait to see the online for smash because the last one was unplayable online.

I'm actually a Nintendo fan and I call out rubbish when I see it no matter the company because I own all the gaming systems and I look at all the games available for all. Ps4 has the best support by far and even though I think Xbox needs to be better with exclusives it still gets a lot of multiplatform games that'll never come to switch. 98 percent of multiplatform games this gen will never come to the switch and Nintendo fanboys like to celebrate the low quality old games that are ported to the switch.

Nintendo fanboys like to celebrate Nintendo selling switches and Nintendo's success with minimal support for the switches gaming line-up. This past year has been horrible with switch support but Nintendo fanboys like to pretend it's been amazing. Ask them about the future And what they are looking forward to on the switch and it's pure wishful thinking with barely anything concrete while Sony PlayStation, pc and Xbox has games releasing every week.

Smitty20201980d ago

I wonder if it had anything to do with Pokémon ;) that game would of boosted sales a lot

Neonridr1979d ago

and the bundles no doubt

darthv721979d ago

good news as I'm holding off getting a switch until the inevitable Metroid Prime 4 bundle.

CaptainObvious8781979d ago

Why? Why are so many people buying this console?

I just don't understand when the other options, even the xbox, are far more attractive for gamers.

Is it just non-gamers ans casual gamers buying it?

Neonridr1979d ago

play some of the games.. then you will understand.

There's something to be said about playing games like Dark Souls, Wolfenstein 2, Zelda, Diablo 3 sitting on a bus or plane. I'm telling you, it blows your mind when you see the quality of games you are playing when you aren't at home in front of your TV. Sure the other options are prettier and faster. But don't kid yourself, the Switch holds its own when it comes to many of these games with compromises that barely affect the game at all.

But naturally it comes down to the simple fact of good games. Why did the 3DS outsell the Vita when the Vita was so much more powerful? Because the 3DS had the games people wanted to play. Switch has an already rich and incredible library and we aren't even 2 years into it's lifecycle yet. 2019 looks to have some amazing games coming too.

It's ok to own more than one device.. you don't have to swear allegiance to one manufacturer.

Great numbers for Nintendo, congrats!!

To quote The New Day: "The Power of Positivity!"

Awesome performance for a system "analysts" claim has lost momentum and "lost shine"

King_Noctis1980d ago (Edited 1980d ago )

I could have sworn I just saw “Nintendo Switch loses shine as killer product for new gaming era” article just a few hours ago.

This definitely proves that article wrong.

iofhua1980d ago

Nintendo broke Thanksgiving. Prepare for the breaking of Christmas!

Neonridr1980d ago

that's Pachter for you. The guy is never right.

michellelynn09761980d ago

I know. He never gets things right. Lol

Moonman1980d ago

Pachter is about as authentic as Miss Cleo Psychic connection...lol

raWfodog1980d ago

I believe that article was specifically pointing out that it didn't seem like Ninty would hit their sales target of 38 million by March 2019. Although Ninty is still sticking to that sales target, multiple analysts suggested the Switch was on track to hit 'only' 35 million. But 35 million is a great number, definitely nothing to laugh at.

I wouldn't play this on Switch, unless it can run at 60fps on it. I don't see that happening. Hope I'm wrong.

LucasRuinedChildhood3h ago(Edited 3h ago)

If players are willing to play Doom at 30fps on the Switch, I suppose it wouldn't be a problem for them to play Hi-Fi Rush at 30fps.

I suspect it will also get a Switch 2 version/patch.

Fantastic game though. Stands up there with Returnal as being one of the more unique, high quality games this gen with a still somewhat sizable budget.

Vits47m ago

I would argue that Hi-Fi Rush at 30fps is a much worse experience than Doom. It is a rhythm game at the end of the day, so extremely reliant on your input latency, which is directly connected to your refresh rate and frame rate.

It's likely not unplayable or anything close to that, but it's going to be a case where for the Switch version, not only the visuals are impacted, but so is the quality of the gameplay.
