I’m sure nobody was asking for Mega Man 2, Street Fighter 2, Assassin’s Creed 2, Red Dead Redemption, TimeSplitters 2, Dynasty Warriors 3, Grand Theft Auto 3, Tomb Raider: Legend, Killzone 2, Red Steel 2, Just Cause 2, Borderlands 2, Watch Dogs 2, Titanfall 2, Twisted Metal 2, or Saints Row 2 because the first game or the game prior proved to be either divisive or unmemorable. Yet the world is better for all these sequels that nobody would’ve initially wanted existing.

Back then, I was asking for Mega Man 2. First one was awesome. 2 locked in my love for the character and franchise. Same with Ninja Gaiden. One was great. 2 was amazing. Especially the cinematics at the time. Oh, and Super C after Contra....and Streets of Rage...and and ..Lol. I'd better stop. Too many great memories.

As for the article, I'm not clicking through multiple pages to find out. I hit three and even that was too many.

I actually did ask for a few of those :)

Specifically, Assassin's Creed 2, Borderlands 2, and Titanfall 2.

And which one of those were a sequel to something that did poorly or was poorly received?

I never ask for sequels, but there are certainly games I would be happy to play a sequel to. The Order might be the only game in recent history I can think of that I might actually "ask" for, but that's more just saying I'd like a sequel to it.

Some games that get sequels, the sequels are actually better than the original....Final Fantasy XIII being a good example.

Several of the listed games aren't sequels, but fans wanted more entries of their favorite series. However, the majority of the games listed in the article didn't live up to fan and critic expectations.

I may not of asked for them, but i did enjoy my time with Mass Effect Andromeda and Metal Gear Survive so say what you will. They not going to be in any of my top lists, but i got my moneys worth from them.

I loved FFXIII but imo it didn't need a sequel & it definitely didn't need a trilogy.

But we got them and they were very fun. XIII-2 was easily the best of the three.

Elda13d ago

I hear you. Imo XIII was all they needed, imo XIII-2 only had 2 protagonist along with no other humans to recruit,no summons & a lackluster story. It should have ended with XIII,they could have used that time to make some original ip instead.

FF13-2 was actually great, but we didnt need another one after it
