Hypothetical: what if Jack Marston isn't a Marston at all, because he isn't the son of John? Blasphemy, right?

He is Micah’s son

He even says how he had to put a gun on women to have sex at the camp, and at one point he was seducing Abigail

———————- Spoilers ———————-

Also in the last mission Abigail is againts John killing Micah with such expression as if you were going yo kill a love one, so yeah her and micah had an affair when John left the camp for a year prior RDR2

Jack even resembles Micah much more than John when he is an adult. So yeah, John got cheated and played out

Spoilers————

Abigail isn’t against the fact that John going to Kill Micah

She’s against the idea of allowing John to sink back into his old life. This is shown throughout the whole epilogue where even after he did the smallest thing by getting back the other ranches goods from those thieves it made her angry, or how she didn’t like the fact that he was helping Sadie hunting bounties. She doesn’t want John to go out and cause trouble because of how hard it’s been for them trying to start a new life after dutches betrayal. It’s made clear she wants John to make himself by doing honest work.

She finally she’s that when he buys the ranch and builds the home only to see it possibly slip away. It has nothing to do with Micah being the father, which I strongly doubt is. There’s no evidence to back any of the claims.

John acts the way he does because he still sees himself as a kid. There’s a huge difference in personality between jack in 1 and him in 2. I see this talked by many how John isn’t the father cause he doesn’t seem to care. Again

Also Abigail was the camps prostitute.its been stated plenty of time that everyone’s had their way with her, Dutch even says so in rdr1.

I was just being silly. I read the entire thread and kinda ruined Abigail for me lol. I feel a lot more of respect for John now.

Let’s just take a moment to appreciate this game and other single player games like God of War, Spider-Man e.t.c. It gives me that nostalgia feeling talking about the story of a game and making up theories as to who’s what and what will happen in the next installment. The feeling of a game leaving you on a cliffhanger, the excitement we felt when we found out atreaus was Loki in god of war. It reminds me arguing with friends back in the day about metal gear solid and how long it took us to find out we had to switch the controller to defeat prey mantis. Am so Glad single player games made a statement this gen, we must continue to support this devs so they don’t go the EA and now recently Bethesda(F76) rout down the next generation. 2019 we must equally come out to support Last of us 2 , Days Gone, Ghost of T, Death stranding, and other single player games. When they see the overwhelming support they will be forced to keep supporting the genoura.

Not even gunna read the spoilers to say that makes no sense lol. Micah = 6 months with gang and Jack = multiple years old

Dark_Knightmare22356d ago (Edited 2356d ago )

Thank you I just said the same thing above. Its like some people didn’t even play the game or they did and have crap attention spans

DEEBO2358d ago

Well I kinda had a feeling about the kid being that asshole micah but also see it as her wanting him to live a normal life,no more outlaw lifestyle.

But I did miss the part about her being the camps personal jumpoff.
Then that makes it hard for John to love her and think the kid is his son,and the way she was trying to stop John and Sadie.

Man when is the beta coming??

Is Jack autistic, is more the question I would ask? Is it hard for John to connect with his son due to Jack's focus being elsewhere all the time, and in turn, Jack can't relate to his father's pastimes or obsessions.

His demeanour, speech patterns and actions in RDR2 all show the signs.

Eldyraen2357d ago

Traumatized by how he was raised.

Even before 2 started, people would have been coming in and out of his life (“gang family” dying or leaving), having his father leave him for a year (just before rdr2 takes place), being kidnapped (and this actually being his happiest timeframe by the way he talks about it), the way he was being saved, having more adopted gang “family” killed including right in front of him, and then his mother taking him from his father again and again as well.

He didn’t have an easy life in other words and who knows what happened in the camp as well since Gang life would be harsh. Discipline there probably wasn’t time out.

So he made a world for himself in his books to separate himself from his reality. Distanced himself from most everyone as well. Both distancing and creating an imagained truth is pretty common for kids in extremely bad places while growing up.

bigmalky2357d ago

That is potentially true, but watch him in the first camp. He has minimal interaction with anyone, spends all his time by himself on the outskirts of the camp, and can be found poking the fire repetitively and such.

I can see how his life would be impacted by his upbringing, but he seems very much cared for by the gang, despite their upheavals and lifestyle.

As a father of an autistic son, and having worked in care for 15 years, I see more than just a boy damaged by his environment here.

Skankinruby2357d ago

This was my exact thoughts going through RDR 1. Jack's existence was so loosely tied to the already shallow story of that game. I thought there would be some weird plot twist at the end where Jack either wasn't John's son or just never actually existed at all and John was just nuts.

Another year of this...Why couldn't they just release the game on time?

chicken_in_the_corn1d 5h ago

Because the gaming community didn't want it to release this year. It was only delayed because of the massive amounts of pressure they were under to do so. It's been happening for years.

thorstein16h ago

On time to what?

It will be released on time: when it is done.

I would have included the Uncharted games as well. Good list though.

Yui_Suzumiya16d ago

Island would be #1 but that would be anything from Frontwing.

QueenOfFrowns16d ago

Haha it is not lost on me that two of the games in the top four were already novels before they were games
