Looks like Capcom is going all out with Resi 2 Remake. If someone hates or love Resi 6. they can't deny it had a huge amount of content so i am hopeful this will have a comparable amount of content that Resi 6 had but with the same quality of Resi 7.

LucasRuinedChildhood2399d ago

Eh, that might be a bit much. Resi 6 had 4 campaigns that I remember being around 6+ hours each. I think a horror game can't sustain tension and scares over a period of time that long.

DarkOcelet2399d ago

It could at least have a 15-16 hour campaign mode (Similar time to playing Resi 4, The Evil Within 1 and 2 or TLOU for the first time) with an extra mode like Mercenaries or Raid Mode. While BattleMode in the original Resi 2 was great, it lacked the depth that both Raid Mode and Merc Mode had so i am just hoping for something extra to keep me playing the game for quite a while aside from just the campaign and hopefully the hardest difficulties offer some different things like Madhouse did for Resi 7.

Also, it could have some meaningful side quests like the ones in TEW 2 that rewards exploration with ammunition or new weapons. Capcom has so much potential to expand the game in meaningful ways and i hope they do.

@DarkOcelet

I agree 15 hours seems about right to me as well. I was actually going to mention that exact figure because of TLOU but I forgot to. They better have Mercenaries or Raid Mode.

@Lucas
I beg to differ here, I believe one of the most shocking and captivating + challenging horror game this gen was "The Evil Within 1"... it was around 24 hours long + DLCs that added more... and it was tense every second of it!

Also when I played "Kona"... platinuming it was a 16+ hours affair for me while the base game is only 6 to 8 hrs long... now, it was extremely tense in its own form, but ending came so abrupt you would think they would've added 3X more content in there with ease...

But talk about Resi-6 is true... it sucked!
Hardly any tension after the first few chapters!!!

Quality over quantity. RE6 got to a point where it was just rehashing scenes from the previous campaigns from a slightly different perspective and it became it felt more like a chore.

DarkOcelet2399d ago

I agree on that notion which is why I said it I am hoping it has the same quality as Resi 7 but longer. I really loved Resi 7 but tbh it was incredibly short ( still awesome but short) so with capcom now having gotten used to the RE Engine, we can have a quality game that is longer than Resi 7.

Silent Hill 2 had a 30-hour campaign...

DarkOcelet2399d ago

Um, no it didn't. I played Silent Hill 2 quite a bit and pretty sure the average for me was between 10-12 hours unless you count the replay value and different endings.

Skankinruby2399d ago

Obvious purchase as I never even played the original, hope this puts the horror genre back on the map not a whole lot going on right now

Square Enix needs to find this many people for their games lol
