Here's why the Diablo community already hates Diablo: Immortal

Nick D'Orazio writes:

At BlizzCon 2018, a developer's worst nightmare occurred.  The biggest fan event intended to celebrate the announcement of a new game turned very sour. After attending BlizzCon my self and talking to upset Diablo fans, I think I've boiled down the biggest reasons why they already hate Immortal.

I dunno, I didn't think it looked all that bad... for a mobile game.

A lot of people who played it at Blizzcon are coming back saying it's not good at all.

That's unfortunate to hear. The one video review I've seen about it said it's about what you could expect from a Diablo game on mobile. Pretty much just as bad as Diablo 3, but on a tiny screen with sh*tty controls.

It just looks a watered down D3, If they actually made original classes or abilities in Immortal it might be worth checking out. In its current form It looks like a pile of garbage which I wont even consider downloading even if its free. Also the timing of the announcement was probably the worst imagineable.

Really good article. I'm a casual diablo fan. And initially couldn't understand the hate.
Now I understand it completely. And the passion people have for what made Diablo special.

I don't know. I'm kind of happy they kept it a dedicated mobile game. You know what the alternative would have been - a cross platform game with mobile controls on PC. Which is always craptastic.

Let this game burn in a dumpster fire, and maybe Blizzard will concentrate on a nice PC game for us.

as a fan with over 2K+ hours into D3 on the PC, i will put 0 hours into this mobile version. I have no desire to even try it. my heart broke when they announced it. I can't believe i paid for the e-ticket to see that garbage of announcement.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Di... - Diablo 2 producer on announcement: "I hate to say it, but what you are seeing is Blizzard not understanding gamers anymore."

https://www.reddit.com/r/Di... - speculation, but the comments are really just that simple.
